LL Multi Pass Necessary?

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking on the boards for a long time but first time posting. I'm planning a trip to DL in May, the week before Memorial Day. We haven't been to DL in ten years, but are regulars at WDW and have some questions. I'm thinking of getting 4 day hoppers and am kicking around buying the LL Multipass but am not sure if it's necessary and am interested in the thoughts of people that are more experienced at DL than me. It's me and my two young adult daughters, and possibly my husband. He's not a Disney person so we tend to just leave him home to care for the pets. From what I'm seeing, this week is showing kind of low crowds for now but the 70th anniversary will have begun and am not sure how this will impact the crowds. Any thoughts on the LL Multipass or any other DL advice is very much appreciated!

You can wait to buy LL until you enter the park. It costs more per day but overall I think you will save money because I don't think you need it for all 4 days. If you are rope dropping you can knock out some of the big LL rides during the first few hours the park is open.

Note that you can not book rides in advance nor choose the return times for your LLs at Disneyland. I would suggest taking a look at some YouTube videos on LLMP/Genie + for Disneyland specific, so you know what the ins & out of how the system works at Disneyland vs how it works at WDW.

Welcome!

Many schools are out in May, the weather is good and, many people are excited about the return of Paint the Night. I could be wrong, but I think it is going to be pretty crowded the second half of May.

I agree with monocularvision. If you take the time to learn how to use LLMP, and can afford it, it will make your trip more enjoyable.

I agree with @LKing and @monocular-vision, and we always get LLMP, even with a 3 or 4 day tickets (and I will just add that a PH is so helpful at DLR since the two entrance gates are a 2 minute walk from each other).

Unfortunately, there are no “slow times” at DLR anymore, no matter what any crowd calendar says. Yes, with 4 day tickets, you can see everything and ride everything at least once or twice, even without LLMP. However, almost all of the lines you will wait in will be long (outside of the first hour or two of park opening). So, you will need to decide if you want to buy LLMP and wait in short lines, leaving more time for re-rides or shows or people watching or whatever you like to do at DLR, or if you want to skip LLMP, still get to do all of the rides, but spend more time in long lines and potentially miss some of the other experiences.

Hello! I just purchased our tickets: 3 days for me, wife, daughter (6), single park (DL) only. I also purcahsed the LLMP because I had a good experience with G+ the last tiem we went (in Nov. 2023). In particular, it's hard for our daughter to wait in super long lines. I'm hoping it's worth it.

We never pay for any LL at least in WDW. We are going to DLR end of this month and don't plan on buying it there either. We are going for 7 nights with no kids or Grandkids and should have enough time to do everything we want. DW and I are older and so many of the thrill rides are just not attractive to us anymore. We take things easy and do rides as they come. I Do look at touring plans and make a preliminary itinerary, but that is very flexible and changes depending on conditions at the park. We are just not the target audience for all things LL.

I think parkhoppers are worth it if you can afford them. The parks are so close together it is incredibly easy to go from one to the other. If one park is crowded, the other park may be less crowded. If a ride is down at one park, you can try again any day you want.

I doubt it will be "low crowds" ... maybe not insane but it will be busy. Grad nights, kids getting out of school, the week leading into a long holiday weekend, probably fun things happening for the 70th, which kicks off May 16.

That said, do you need LL every day? No. Is it nice to have? Yes, but it's expensive. You could wait and buy it day by day as needed.

For that time, I would wait and see. If the first day is way more crowded than you thought it would be, buy it for the second and third days.

I never get LLMP but I am also coming in May and this time decided to eat the cost and buy it for my 3 days.
The 70th Celebrations are going to bring in a tonne of people, new parades, new attractions and just an amazing vibe.

I'll be there at the very end of May / beginning of June so a bit later than you. But you'll still have the 70th celebrations begin while you visit.
