Live Saturday DIS Chat!! Tonight: Laying Some Odds. . .
Hi-Ho Campers!! How was your week?
Well, I must say it was a intense one here at the Saturday Night Chat Institute Of Wine, Pizza, and Television Studies.. As some of you might recall, a couple weeks ago we conducted a bold experiment in which we attempted to apply our state-of-the-art Chatology research to picking the winner of the Kentucky Derby. . and while the entire project ended in shameful failure after we found ourselves in a Lexington biker bar instead of at Churchill Downs when the race went off thus missing the opportunity to bet, the process did show enough scientific promise to revisit it at some time. . . (plus Marla won $50 playing shuffleboard with the Satans Accountants From Heck biker gang, so the weekend wasnt a total loss financially either. . )
So with todays running of the Preakness looming, we spent the week refining our research methods; plugging in some alternate mathematic formulas; and drinking lots of beer in an attempt to see if perhaps we could come up with a solid strategy that would push through previous scientific paradigms and also give us way to make consistently make some easy cash without working. .
After many long hours, blood, sweat, tears, frustration, yelling, and cursing. . Marla finally got me to turn off the Big Screen TV and help, and eventually we got what we felt was a workable system to try out. .
And guess what? It worked!
Thats right. . learning from out past mistake we avoided actually trying to attend the race live and instead stay at the Institute until right before the race started and then went down to the local Bald Knob Off-Track Betting Parlor and Hair Salon and laid down our cash. .
We barely had time to collect our thoughts and buy a couple 52oz beers before the ponies were in the gates and ready to go. . the tension was fierce- in a way our whole future way of life was at stake not too mention our combined paychecks. . and then they were off!!
It was an exciting 2 minutes my friends; and as our horse rounded the turn and galloped home a winner we not only felt that unique rush that only scientific breakthrough can provide, we also collected a whopping $2.40 on our $2 show ticket. . whoo-hoo!! . .
So now of course we have the fever, and to further integrate the two fields of our research, we have decided that tonights chat should include both gambling and chatting. . So tonight we are pleased to announce that Disney After Dark will be heading to the always exciting Disney Boardwalk where well be buying rounds with our winnings and betting more at the wonderful ESPN Club!!!!
That's right kids; this great bar is a sports bettors paradise. . well feast on the fine food and throw back many drinks, and also lay money on and watch dozens of various sporting events from around the globe; The Mavericks/Kings game from Dallas. . Bullfighting from San Salvador. . Curling from Ottawa. . . Checkers from China. . Armadillo races from Bolivia. . Professional Dwarf Bwarls from Belgrade. . all that and more on the ESPN Clubs 715 large screen TVs.. . oh, and of course there will also be beer. .
So why not quarantine the family to another part of the house, fire up the computer, and join your chat hosts MarlaH. and WillyJ. this Saturday night in the Main Chat Lobby at 9PM EST. It's a lot of fun, and a great opportunity to hang out with your fellow DIS'ers and get to know each other better in a relaxed, informal Atmosphere. As always, general Disney or Universal questions are encouraged and appreciated, and there will be a room full of Orlando veterans there to help you out. . .
