Lightning Lane Premier Pass is launching October 23

It would be nonsensical to not upgrade to a park hopper ticket if you are going to have LLPP.

Candidly, we have never purchased single park tickets and I don’t imagine that we ever will.
Looking at it the other way it would be nonsensical to purchase LLPP if you don't have park hoppers. Which is why I think they could make more money by having a single park option. Like I said charge $250 for one park or $400 if you have park hoppers.

I found I got more done my last trip without park hoppers vs when we did.

Are you talking about the premium package or the dinner package where you sit in the dining package seating?

In the future, you can cancel your reservation on the app. That lets them know not to hold a table for you and might allow someone else to take advantage of a walk up reservation.
We had plans for the premium package. We tried to cancel, but it was too late when we made our decision to skip dinner at 4pm. I was at DCA when dinner rolled around, and I wasn't going to walk back to DL just to let them know. I agree that I should have been able to cancel on the app.

But the demographic who is buying LLPP is not buying a single park ticket. You are lowering your margins without materially increasing your addressable market.

You just want LLPP for DLand for $250 🤣

Yeah, I think it would be a waste over at DCA... I mean it's still a huge benefit, but I think honestly you could knock everything out in about 2.5 hours with that pass, AND half of those attractions (most the time) have return windows that are often already open or at most an hour out with a standard pass.

The cost to park hop is minimal if you're spending that much and I would be almost everyone already has a park hop ticket or will upgrade to one if they get that pass.

I don't think it's going to become crazy popular, but I do think it's something that needs to stay somewhat rare or it will balloon lines, at $35 or whatever that's annoying, at $400+ if I'm waiting 30 minutes in a line that's meant to jump the line... that's starting to get a problem.

Sure, until you have this pass. Then you can easily do a 9 to 11:30 over at DCA or something and basically knock that park out and spend the rest of the day (12 hours) over at Disneyland. The pass is wildly powerful at DCA and makes the park very quick.

I won't even spend the $36 for LLMP so I am never going to buy LLPP for $250. The only reason I would buy MP on my upcoming trip is if I can not get a Tiana's VQ.

The idea that a family of 4 is paying $1600 to walk around and go on rides like we could in 2021 is sad.

I’m glad people are enjoying it, and I mean no offense to anyone using it, but I think this is just insane. You can’t even re-ride! Insane.

Ok, now compare it to the cost of a VIP tour for a family of four…..

Exactly this. My kid half-jokingly keeps asking for a plaid, and that's just something that's not going to happen right now for our family of 3. Now, in the back of my mind, maybe in the future once spouses and grandkids start entering the picture...

Yup. It’s like VIP lite for someone who can book their own ADR’s, doesn’t need a tour, is OK with riding every LL ride once, and is OK standing in line for the fantasy land rides.

We did it a week and a half ago for our family if 4 and it was absolutely fantastic. It’s a pretty simple product, so I’m not sure what needs to be reported back.

You walk up to any LL ride, scan your MB+ or Disneyland app and then just walk in. If you already purchased a LLMP then you can use that to stack the big rides for the end of the day so that you can ride those twice.
Thank you for this post, @AstroBlasters! If you have not used your LLPP for a ride, and you also have a LLMP booked for the ride, do you have the system use the right one based on the time you show up (either within or not within your LLMP window)?

I am wondering if we will just buy LLMP day by day (we usually just buy it with the tickets), so that we purposely won’t have LLMP on the LLPP day. This is selfishly because I do all of the LL booking/refreshing/modifying, and I am very much looking forward to doing none of that for a day, if we decide to try LLPP. I fear that if we also have LLMP that day, I will get sucked into trying to get that “extra” ride on Indy at just the right time with LLMP, instead of enjoying the relaxed nature of a day with LLPP!

Glad you felt it was a worthwhile experience and didn’t have any issues!

I agree that things are a far cry from 2021 at Disney in many ways. I try not to look back on it that way, because unless we have a huge recession, prices at DL are only going to increase. But yes, I do miss you, MaxPass and FlexPass!!!

It’s easy to know which one to scan if you don’t via the app, but if you just hit your MB+ it will probably default to the LLPP.

One example where we used MP before PP was with an Indy time popped up without much of a wait and so we did LLMP for that and saved the PP for later in the night.

Also, if you have people who don’t want to ride a specific attraction, Matterhorn for instance, you can use the app to scan if for that attraction with a PP a second time via the app since they don’t check IDs with the LL’s. I think of it as 4 reserved places in a line for whoever in your party wants to use them. That can be nice if you have small ones who don’t love the bigger coasters and older kids who don’t care if they miss some smaller rides.

This was actually something I was wondering about. If a member of a party chooses not to ride an attraction if another member of the group could use the LL. Good to know that they can.
