Lightning Lane Bookings from UK

Hi hoping for some assistance.
We have dated tickets for August but I’m a little confused about when I can book lightning lane reservations. When does booking open for UK travellers? Is it 7 days?

If you're staying at a Disney resort (or at Swan/Dolphin) you can book 7 days from your check in day for up to 14 days, otherwise it is 3 days before your ticket starts for the duration of your ticket.

Great thanks - I’d seen people say if in the UK you had to wait until you were in the US. Seemed really poor and frankly just drives you to Universal! Reassuring. Thanks

As far as I'm aware we do have to wait until we get there unless something has happened in the last month. My friend was there in February and they had to wait

Thanks that is so poor for UK guests. Essentially means we get no options in our first week. It’s not a cheap holiday and frankly makes me think about cancelling and just doing universal which is much simpler anyway.

It was that way when the new Lightning Lanes were released, but I thought it had been fixed since then (or there was a workaround at the very least) and you could now book LL's from outside the USA.

It changed last October. UK guests can book on the app, just like US guests. 3 days prior if not staying at a Disney resort, 7 days prior if on site.

Apologies for bumping this thread back up, but I just talked to a cm on the live chat and they said that you have to be in the states so now I’m slightly confused. Can anyone confirm if it works in advanced for the uk?

Why did you feel the need to chat about it with a cast member? It's been available to UK guests since October last year. If you still don't believe it, then just purchase when you arrive in the US, but you'll miss out on the best rides/times.

Yep I've used it twice (last November and February) without any issue at all.

Booking hotels at the moment. I just wanted to confirm that if I split stay with hilton at the start I can book lightning lanes 3 days in advance for the full dated ticket so 14 days if I want??

Date-based ticket holders can book for up to 14 days at their 3 day window (if staying off site).

Yeah I did think that was the case.

So follow up question. I'm staying for 16 nights...am I better off getting a ticket for 17th Feb- 6th March. Instead of the 18th which will be our first day ( 1st park day is 19th)

Not only is it a slightly cheaper ticket but as I'm only there for 17 days I can push it back a bit maybe to get an earlier time to book LLs

I'm not worried about day 1 as it's going to be a AKL day. But epcot day 2 I'd really like guardians.

You can try, but always pot luck on the day what's available. At least you can queue for GoG if necessary.
