I have never been to Le Cellier before. What's it like?
Ok, yes Le Cellier is a steak house. And Teppan Edo is a teppan Japanese restaurant. Via Napoli is an Italian Restaurant. I think most people understand this. Not world shaking news. Are they expensive compared to the chain diners down the road. Yes. You're dining at Walt Disney World. Again not a big surprise. Do I want to rent a car (when I'm staying on site) to find a cheaper place miles away? Not likely.
Is the food good? IMHO yes it is. Again, only my OPINION, and everyone has their own. But we both found the cheese soup to die for. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and the wine that we had with it was a lovely accompaniement. We really enjoyed the desserts we had: the chocolate mousse and the creme brulee. Would we go again? In a heart beat.
Since you all are talking Le Cellier....mind if I ask a question also?
My trip isn't until October, and when I started making my ADRs, it was always booked. On a whim this evening, I started checking all my dates, and lo and behold, one ressie popped open.
Here is my question: is it good enough to warrant changing around my entire schedule? The only date that was available was a day I had planned at US for Harry Potter mania.
Nothing on my schedule is really set in stone at this point; it's our first trip, so I'm just learning how to plan this stuff out. I only chose that day for Harry Potter (Tuesday) because I had read on these boards that it's more likely to be less crowded that day.
Any advice?

I think if you stick with the steaks, Le Cellier is easily the best 1 credit restaurant on property. But that's part of the problem. Once dinner changed to 2 credits, people had to grapple with the idea that maybe the food isn't worth the same price as Artist Point, California Grill, Jiko, etc. For me, it's hard to say. I mean, compare LC to Yachtsman. Most people are saying Yachtsman is better hands down, and I guess that could be true if you want the porterhouse or something exclusive to Yachtsman. But it wouldn't surprise me if the most popular dish at both was their filet. The filets at both are 8-ounce non-prime meat served with a starch and sauce and cost about $40. At LC, the starch is mushroom risotto and the sauce is truffle butter. At Yachtsman, the starch is mashed potatoes and the sauce is red wine-based. They seem pretty even to me (I would actually pick LC's dish based on personal taste), so I guess that means Yachtsman isn't worth it as a signature either (not that I'd really dispute that - it's the signature that's underwhelmed us most).i am honestly surprised people give Le Cellier a bad review - It is probably the best meal I have ever had in Disney hands down. I got the mushroom filet over cream cheese mashed potatoes. got the cheese soup as an app and the maple creme brule for dessert. to be honest i think everyone should try it at least once. not to mention it is a pretty cool atmosphere
I totally Agree with Minnie Mum... LOVED Le Cellier ! Visited May 2010 with DS18 and we got the Cheddar Cheese Soup and the Mushroom Filet with Subbed Cream Cheese Mashed potatoes...
I can understand that the meal certainly can't please everyone but we enjoyed Le Cellier VERY MUCH and will definitely be back!
Please read the menu and make your own opinions.... not everyone will like everything. We are also BIG Teppan Edo Fans... although we enjoy local Hibachi...there's just something special about Hibachi in "Japan" in Epcot and it's a family tradition ! >> i agree, Teppan Edo is awesome!!!!

Is there a steak somewhere in all that?
To the OP. For me, Le Cellier is an average to slightly above average streakhouse, much like an Outback that once was wildly popular prior to going signature. Now it's just wildly popular at lunch time. On the DDP as a 1ts it was a great value, now that it's a signature for dinner the raving opinions and hype has greatly diminished.
My advice, ignore those who tell you it is almost a religious experience that transports you between time and space and makes you leave this place feeling as though you had a Moses like encounter before the burning bush; It's not that. Also, ignore those like myself who will tell you it's over-rated and over-hyped and fail to see it's majestic greatness. I'm sure the truth is in between both opinions. >>VERY funny! I totally agree! Pls dont go there with high expectations, cause you might be disappointed in the end. If your curious, go and form your own opinion.
Go and enjoy it. Form your own opinion and then let us all know what your opinion is as to whether you are a believer or are you a non believer.![]()
Nope Totally not worth changing anything around for. I've found the food just okay, at times way too salty and NOT worth 2 credits IMHO. Go enjoy HP and eat at Magaritaville on your way out!![]()
ITA with PPs, absolutely not.
I spent months trying to get a ressie for Le Cellier for our trip in Oct 2010. Finally got a lunch ressie and was disappointed I wasted so much time trying to score the ressie. It wasn't bad...but certainly not worth the hype. The soup everyone raves about was flat out disgusting to me. The Mushroom Filet was just ok, I'd order it again subbing the risotto. Surprisingly enough, the steaks we had at Le Cellier were better than the steaks we ordered at signature restaurants even though they were average at best...go figure. >> I agree with these two posters....DO NOT change your schedule around for Le Cellier. I honestly was very disappointed in this place. Soup wasnt anything to write home about. I kept thinking "really?! this is it?"....after each sip i was hoping the next sip would knock my socks off, but it didnt....i've had far better soup at my local subway shop! Pretzel bread was NOTHING special either. And the steak, oh dont get me started. quite tasteless and fatty (i ordered the ny strip). Maybe i should have had the filet? It was a very forgetable meal. I wont be back and im still curious about the hype? The place isnt anything fancy either....tables are way too close together. Service isnt great. But thats just my opinion. All I can say is this, if you can get a ressie and you really wanna try, then go for it. But dont go with high expectations, and certainly dont change your schedule around for this place either. Have fun!
