NEVERMIND... I just read the map fully and saw the "Launderette" located between the Game Room and Camp Dolphin! Not too far from the pool!

Also, can anyone tell me how many quarters (or would that be $$) for each washer load and each dryer load??? I want to be prepared.

I'm looking for someone familiar with the Swan/Dolphin resorts to tell me where the Laundry Room is located on this map on the Swan/Dolphin's website:

http://www.swandolphin.com/ipixhtml/360tour.html

I've read that I'll have to walk to the Dolphin to do our laundry, but would like to have an idea of where it's located.

Also, can anyone tell me how many quarters (or would that be $$) for each washer load and each dryer load??? I want to be prepared. Thanks! :thumbsup2

I believe that both the washers & dryers take 8 tokens each, making for $2.00 at each machine.
(Token machines inside the laundry room.)

Be prepared for a nightmare! There is only one small laundry room for 2 large resorts. We were there at the end of June 2004, and there were lines to do laundry at all times of the day. That was my one big complaint about the Dolphin. I guess I'm used to the WDW moderates where there are laundry rooms near the quiet pools and I have never had to wait.

The dryers don't work very well either. It took about an hour and a half to get my clothes dry.

Tubbi's is right next door and a games room, but be quick with that coffee if you are not someone will empty your washer and have their grubby hands all over your undies :(

Do the washers and dryers have large tubs? For that price, I'd just as soon do one huge load in the middle of our vacation.

Do the dryers have timers? That way I could set the alarm on my cell phone and then go out by the pool.

I guess I should go to my bank and "buy" some quarters ---- BUT wait, didn't someone say that you have to buy tokens? Where do you buy the tokens? And can you use dollar bills ($1, $5, $10) to buy the tokens? If so, I don't have to get any quarters - except maybe for some pressed pennies...

Washers are large, driers are not, if I remember right they did have timers.

Not too sure, I think it just changed 25c to token, but I may be mistaken.

If it has been raining you will find a lot of people hogging the driers to dry their shoes.

I made the mistake of letting DH go back to the Swan to "do laundry" one night. He arrived too late - it had already closed, so he just had to go have some drinks in the bar till we got back from MGM!

The next morning he spent 1/2 the morning doing laundry. He HAD to go eat at Picabu's while the clothes were washing/drying, while we ate the GoTarts in our hotel room that were already paid for!

Then I joined him when he was taking too long coming back to the room - we were waiting to all go to Epcot together! He stuffed all the clothes into one Dryer and because of all the wrinkled clothes, I think he "purposely" got himself excused from EVER doing laundry on vacation again! I put my Downey Wrinkle Releaser spray to good use for the rest of the trip!

I don't know how much he paid for the wrinkled clothes experience, but he certainly got the better deal - no more doing vacation laundry, nice breakfast out, no kids or wife nagging him, & he got to actually read a newspaper and watch tv on vacation with NO interruptions!

Staying nine nights made doing laundry mandatory, but I'll plan better next year. Maybe one extra bag with more clothes may be worth the time and money spent doing vacation laundry ON VACATION! I'll even sacrifice a day when we return from our vacation to do the mountains of dirty laundry!

You know the saying... "if you want something done right - do it yourself!!" Sorry, but it's the control freak in me.... :confused3
