July - too hot and crowded ??

Looking at coming this July.

Dates I’m thinking of are either 5-10 July or 25-31 July.

I would prefer to come earlier as I’d think it might be a little cooler or just not as hot but we might have left over 4th July crowds. This period fits better in our schedule but flight prices aren’t great.

End of July, I worry it will be too hot. But flight prices are better. Tighter squeeze on our schedule. I also didn’t realise some of the 70th things don’t actually start until after the 17th so that’s a bonus.

Tbh I’m probably just over thinking it, and either date is fine. It will be what it will be.

What are your thoughts ?

I often go in July. There are people who find it too hot but I'm not one of them. To me, it's pleasant, but I'm one who tends to be cold when others are comfortable. Now if you combine hotter temps with humidity, that's a different story! Luckily, it's generally not overly humid at DLR, at least compared to a lot of other places.

It really depends on what you consider "too hot". California does not get the oppressive humidity that Florida has so I don't personally find it that bad. We've gone a bunch of times in August and actually the hottest trip we ever did was the year we went in September. Temps that trip were over 40C (around 104F).

Unfortunately predicting our weather here in So Cal is a total crapshoot! Prepare for heat but know that at least the mornings/evenings will be cooler. Afternoon is great for pool time or a nap.

One of the best parts about July is the parks are open 8-10 (DCA) and 8-Midnight (DL) daily. Lots of opportunity to escape to the pool and A/C during the hottest sun of the afternoon.

For me July would be too hot but I tend to run hot/warm and dislike temps above 80. If July was the only time I could go, I still would. This year I would go late July because I wouldn't want to miss the Walk animatronic at the Opera House.

I’m going for your second set of dates

I can’t miss the opening of the Walt Disney audioanimatronic, like can’t!!!
I booked these dates before I heard that that wasn’t opening until the 17th so it works out, but if it didn’t work out, I would’ve moved my dates

I like the heat, I mostly I like not cold nights

I think both sets of dates are good. The weather won't be different enough between those dates to book based on weather. I'd go with which schedule is best for you.

Plus I thought it was a little hotter as you inch closer to August/september vs July?

It's too hot for me, personally. But you can really never know with weather. Once we went in early June expecting better weather and it was in the mid-high 90s all week. I think you should go with the dates that work best for you. Plus, even being there when it's sweltering you'll still have fun. We used various cooling accessories and that helped alot.
