**July 2024 Check-In**

Crowds Tuesday and Wednesday this week were extremely manageable. Tuesday, DL seemed light and DCA was more crowded. Another good reason for PH. We'll see what the 4th brings. No reservations left, but only time will tell! We will be there. Expecting more crowded the night of the 4th and less crowded on Fri-Sat.

Got in standby line for ROTR tonight at 9:45 right before it closed. Posted 60, actual 25.

Walked past Fantasmic as the 10:30 show started. Tons of standby available to enter easily if we wanted with decent views with absolutely no wait. Try the HM side, upper level.

Golden tier LL first thing this morning. Made the day wonderful! Short standby waits on everything until 10:30/11:00. Acceleration all day for everything.

Harbor security has been bliss so far in the morning and late afternoon. They are THOROUGHLY checking every pocket of every bag. They made me open my son's lunch box! New DLH security was terrible in comparison. Very slow and too few security lines open.

Ate at Goofy's for dinner - wonderful as always and great character interaction!

Today, we did:

Alice
Dumbo
Toad
Snow White
Runaway Railway
Roger Rabbit
Mickey's House
Space Mountain
Matterhorn
Big Thunder
Pirates
Monsters Inc
Webslingers
Peter Pan
Indy
Guardians
Rise

Yesterday we did (only in parks a half day):

Train
Big Thunder
Toy Story
Critter Carousel
Little Mermaid
Magic Happens Parade
Radiator Springs (single rider)
Incredicoaster
Star Tours
Millennium Falcon
Matterhorn

Glad you are enjoying yourself! How has the weather been? We are heading out in a couple of hours.

25 minutes until the pre-show or until you were seated in a vehicle?

Ugh! This was your worry. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

Weather has been great! Low 80s each day. Fri and Sat are forecasted hotter, closer to 90. We're from TX, so even 90 here doesn't feel bad to us.

25 min to first preshow for ROTR.

They have the roaming hedges in front of Jolly Holiday and Plaza Inn in anticipation of massive fireworks crowds tonight. The hedges were not there last night. They also have the portable blow up directional signs they use on new year's eve saying "all destinations." They will be using backstage walking areas along main street tonight. They weren't using them last night.

We spent the morning in DL and plan on doing DCA this evening. Will watch the special 4th fireworks from our park view balcony at the Tropicana!

Currently sitting with silver tier MEP and some golden tier LL stacked at DCA for tonight.

Crowds are noticeably heavier than yesterday, but still not bad. Expect tonight will have larger crowds. Today is an eligible date for the special ticket offer and lots of people seem to be using one of those days for visits today.

Thanks for the report on how it's been so far. 👌🏼 3 days till we leave and I do see how hot the temps are getting. We are from Arizona though and our temps will be at 113/112, so I'm happy we are escaping that!
Honestly, I would rather deal with heat than rain. We last came in Jan 2023 and it rained the whole time. I'll take 90s with no rain any day. One of my favorite things about July is rain free weather!

How long did it take for them to issue you MEPs after it stated ride was temporarily down? I assume it still works to use the MEP to accelerate your day? Haven't heard many people talk about it lately, so was curious if it was still working.

That's probably a good thing. I'm sure if that feature *wasn't* working, people would definitely be talking about it! :)

It varies. Sometimes right when the LL window opens, sometimes a few minutes in, and one time today I got it issued 10 minutes early. Acceleration is definitely still working. Silver tier MEP only accelerates silver tier rides, and gold tier accelerates everything. The MEP tells you the rides it works for. You can also use the MEP itself before your day is up.

How have the LL's been? About how long have you had to wait to get on the rides? Should hopefully be able to get a MEP with the amount of rides that close throughout the day.

Do you have the Disneyland app? You can check what wait times are real time for all rides, whether or not they are LL, anytime. Doesn't have to be a park day for you.

You can also check https://www.thrill-data.com/waits/chain/dlr/ to see previous wait times for the day, week, etc. Lots of good info on that site.

I have found lines to be very reasonable. LL has not been backed up checking in at all this week. Standby waits and LL availability are generally good this summer because crowds are down and the recent DAS changes have also altered LL usage.

I agree. Look at Thrill Data. Saturdays in July are still the best!

I snapped some photos of the hedges and signs yesterday.

Daytime vs evening - Kind of an eyesore during the day. One would think they would come up with a wayfinding sign that could work during the day and light up in the evening.

I was at the park today, very good lines for the most part

Rise was closed until basically 9:30 am and walked on it when it reopened.

Besides it being hot, these weekends seem like a good time to go. So enjoy those coming soon to the parks

As expected, crowds were much more manageable again today after the 4th. Temps were not particularly hot, only around 85. Wait times were not bad at all and excellent LL availability at both parks deep into the night. Walkways were sometimes crowded, but nothing abnormal. Leaving the park at 10 after fireworks many rides were walk ons. Pirates literally had no one in line even in the building (it was open).

Watched Fantasmic and fireworks from RDZ viewing tonight at the railing and showed up at 8. Still room at 8:30. Peter Pan is excellent and the scene was awe inspiring to my 5 year old. This scene alone made me see the show since they brought it back after the lackluster Pirates scene in the last version.

Started the day at DCA and didn't use LL until around 1:00. Just booked, modified, and stacked for the evening.

We did not have EE and found DCA to be largely unaffected by it. We went on Toy Story at RD with no wait. Ride uptime was really excellent today. Indy was down for about 2 hours late morning, but most rides were operating much of the day with limited downtime.

If Tiana's and HM were operating, wait times and LL availability would be even better (and it's already pretty good).

Harbor security continued to be excellent. Went through 3 times - 7:15 am, 4:30 pm, and 7:45 pm - we never waited more than 5 minutes. We also have tons of bags travelling with a baby so we're slower than most. I love staying across the street on Harbor - it's so convenient, close, and the offsite restaurants are easy to manage with kids without having to stress about mobile ordering far in advance or ADR'S.

Those are great rooms. We had a one-bedroom family suite last time we were in the Frontier Tower. Loved that my husband and I were able to have our own bedroom and the balcony had a great view of the pool. My kids were teens at the time and I could keep half an eye on them from the balcony while they went to the pool.

Enjoy!
