Is this a change to paying dues with gift cards?

I recently did the same thing. Turned on autopay to get the monthly payment amounts per contract. Turned off autopay and made partial payments on each contract equal to the monthly pay amounts 2x over. Turned autopay back on and now my next withdrawal won't be until 3/15. No glitches for me thankfully. I'm guessing this option will stop working after 1/15 though unfortunately.

Mine are now showing correct date and amount. Just cancelled (again) and reenrolled(again)

Must have been a glitch in Disney IT (that’s a first 8-) )

Sometimes I have had to log out and in and it updates too.

I actually did that as I at first cancelled the autopay and did the GC payment on my cell and afterwards turned it on.
When it didn’t compute I went to my laptop and tried again with the same result.

If it works they way we were told it would, yes. We may get a grace period until Feb 15th to re enroll.

But, if one isn’t set to pay balance in full, it might not be wise to try it between Jan 15th and Feb 15th!

I'm definitely not going to try it.. LOL! I hope to just pay them off in total by 3/15 but at least I have some breathing room since I leave for WDW in two days.

My next payment is due on the 3/1 I hope I can cancel autopay payoff the balance with a gc before that date but after 2/15 - and hopefully not get a late fee.

So it is lowering the amount? That is how it used to work but I thought someone said it was only advancing the date.

Please forgive my fantasy amounts
So if dues are $10 a month and I used a $25 card it will pay Jan, Feb and in March I will owe $5?

Me too. If I buy any GCs for 2026 I plan to apply them immediately even though I hate prepaying anything.
Anytime I buy gift cards, I apply them immediately. I’m always worried that someone will get the number and there will be $0 balance.

I have always paid the balance in full by CC later in the year and did not have to turn off autopay so didn’t have to worry about any fees

It sounds like you should be able to pay in full and get hit with the fees.

Wheee I might wieey…but we won’t know until we pass the Feb 15th date is whether the system will allow one to enter multiple credit cards to cover the balance before they submit.

If it works the way the CC works, it will only allow you pay in full which means the GC would need to have enough to cover.

I haven't read all 18 pages of this thread, so maybe this was discussed. We have 5 contracts, and I was able to "pay by contract" for our smallest contract and just pay the whole year with a gift card without turning autopay off.

Now I have enough gift cards to pay off the dues on a second contract, but the amount is over $1000. You can't have over $999 on a single gift card (I've got 3 gift cards and could combine it to 2, but not to a single gift card). The website only allows a single Disney gift card to be entered.

My thought was to call Member Accounting and give them the 3 gift card numbers to pay off this second contract's dues. However, today I kept getting "we are experiencing high call volumes, try back later" and the system hung up on me.

I'm going to try again tomorrow. If anyone has figured out how to pay with more than one gift card, I'm all ears!!

After you turn off autopay, you should be able to select to pay with GC, then input the amount of the gift card. Rinse and repeat with the other gift cards.

This does not work. The website sees the first gift card as a partial payment and throws an error.

You turned off auto pay and then entered the 999.00 amount on the gift card into the payment amount field on that contract? Then entered the GC info under payment type?

The website only allows 1 gift card at a time. Use one card to pay off up to $1000, then submit. Then go back in and select a contract again to put another card in for another payment. I did it yesterday on a few contracts to use up most of my cards

As @Tatebeck stated select one contract and then put in however much the gift card is (Unless the gc is more than the contract and in that case just put in the contract's amount)
You should then be able to pay and repeat the process.

Thanks, I was missing the part where I had to turn off autopay in order to make partial payments. I appreciate everyone's patience.

I decided to NOT pay off a second contract's dues, but rather to split up the money I have so that next time Target has an extra bonus for spending at a certain level I can take advantage of it (this week there was a "spend $400, get a $40 credit" and I hope they continue to offer these deals to me every few months). With all 4 contracts being under or close to $1000 balance after today's payments, I hope to be able to smoothly pay off a contract each time or every other time Target offers the extra cash by combining my purchases into a single gift card under $1000.

Just FYI after January 15th it will not let you cancel AutoPay and apply gift cards for 2025 dues and then turn back on Autopay. What you are trying may work if you are paying the whole amount on the contract after cancelling AutoPay. Hopefully someone else can confirm or deny if that works or not

You can have $1000.00 on a gift card. I do that on the regular.
When I went to the Disney Gift Card site and tried to combine to 2 cards (since you can only pay dues with a single gift card in one transaction) I got an error saying I couldn't do that.
