Is there a central thread highlighting the benefits of concierge?

By person, you mean device? How would they delineate by person? Each person has a specific login?
Each person would have a specific log in but it can be shared amongst family members, but only one device can be logged in at a time using it. We will share one mid- level internet package amongst my family when we sail now that the internet actually works onboard with the new star link system. Theres an option when you log in that says its in use already but you can select to log out other users so you can use it. It became a running joke about booting each other off the Wi-Fi randomly. If anyone needed to do something important on the Wi-Fi we would notify in the group chat in the DCL app. So if you have 4 people in your cabin you may never need to pay, just share each person's log in within a 24-hour period. The packages also gets cheaper each day, so don't rush to buy it on the first day of sailing. You would most likely have cell signal all day while in port before the ship leaves so you might not need to access the internet anymore that first day.

What are the advantages on boarding day.?
You do no have to worry about PAT/boarding group. There will be a special check in area when you arrive and you will wait for boarding in a separate lounge that has soft drinks available. When boarding starts you are lead to the front of the line and board first. Once on board there is a special restaurant reserved for concierge guests for lunch.

Another boarding day perk is that you can get into your cabin earlier than the rest of the people. On our Treasure cruise earlier this month we would have been able to get into our cabin at 12:30 while the rest of the ship cabins wouldn't open up until 2:00 pm

I intend to fully take advantage of going off-grid. The connection is important only for her extension courses which she can technically not participate in but she'd join the calls if at all possible. If this Proseminar is anything like the prior one, the sessions are done through zoom. They don't put links online for downloading if you missed it and they disable the option to download when you're live in session. You can view it online later but not download though they remove the links after the Proseminar is over. I use the Youtube downloader, Chrome and take the file names from the console before using a command prompt to grab them. The presenter and shared screen are not integrated so it ends up being two videos for each class but it is better than taking notes.

We may have to upgrade if the basic internet speed isn't suitable for a zoom call.

I would imagine the basic internet package would not be suitable for Zoom. It's only for social media, not even email. So you'd need the highest tier I'm guessing in order to get good video/audio streaming.

And even then, there are no guarantees it will connect and stay stable. It's improved a lot, yes. But it does still crash and freeze more than on land. So I'd encourage anyone who "has" to do online things like meetings or classes to have a plan for what they'll do/say if it does crash.

The plan is simple. Try to reconnect, if unable to, wait until we're home and I'll download the session. It just means not being able to participate in the live Q&A or read the comments from fellow classmates (which isn't a data stream I can download).

Her plan is to try Plan A first, connect via Canvas which uses Zoom but leave her camera off to limit outbound traffic. If that fails, then Plan B, to try connecting with just audio. She can still participate in the Q&A but can't read comments. Plan C is wait until we're home.

A leads to B leads to C
