Is 8am EST really the time?

It happened again! I had everything teed up and hit reserve at exactly 8 and the reservation was gone. This is painful!

You need to be hitting search, not book, at 8:00am.

It keeps happening that the minute 8am hits, the first day of the available days goes missing. For instance, today the 23rd became unavailable right at 8am but the 24th and on is still available. This has happened a few days in a row. Is the computer taking these rooms offline? I can’t imagine that every day someone just reserves one room for just one day.

Is the 22nd gone? It is most likely someone walking as mentioned previously however it could be someone booking just one room a day. That is what I was doing to try and get Aulani as it was only one room each day in a different room type and view available.

I would search for the date but instead of picking the room I selected full availability and that was all there was.

But it doesn’t make sense because the entire week is available and they just keep taking the one day the minute it opens. So, if someone was truly trying to get a reservation, they would take the whole week or how many days they need not just one every morning. It really seems like a computer taking the room every morning at 8am just for that day.

They may not have enough points to grab the whole week they need so they might be advancing it day by day. That is why I asked if the 22nd was gone when you were trying for the 23rd.

Try for rooms that have more total rooms like ocean.

Some people are checking out on the 24th, but no one using 7-month points can book a stay that starts on that day yet.

That's not true for the 23rd, and that's why it can disappear one day at a time.

I don’t know what size room you are looking to book but I assume a 1 bedroom? There’s one Island Garden view 1 bedroom available for for check in on 6/24. You are competing with everyone like you, just trying to piece something together for June. Plus people who are walking and think you have to walk at 8am even though you don’t. It’s annoying, I get It. I do The same thing every summer to get a studio at HHI. I’m pretty flexible so I just try every day until my computer is the fastest.

Possibly I try Not to walk if I don’t have to though. I just start in late July and try to get 3 weeknights before Labor Day. One year I got It the first day I tried but last year I think it was the second week of August before I could Get that first night

My husband and I are convinced that people are using programmed bots to walk these reservations. Every morning at exactly 8am they disappear for one day. It happens so fast that it has to be a computer doing it. This brings a whole new level to securing DVC reservations!

It could also be that there aren’t many rooms available and that there are 100 people all trying to reserve it at the same exact moment you are.
