Internet starlink

That's actually very hard to do for a satellite communications system. Nation states can't do it reliably

Well, people both on Royal and Celebrity thought they'd be slick and not have to pay for internet and were unable to use their private links.

I feel like an old man here. I really don't want to be on the deck and have someone on their Teams meeting next to me. I'm on vacation with my kids and I'm definitely not going to be quiet or accommodate the people with their Starlink equipment. I ask my kids to be quiet when my wife is on a Teams meeting at home but I'm not going to ask them to do the same on vacation.

Totally agree! It is like when people use speakers in public!

(I used headphones for my meeting even though there was no one around.)

AT&T does charge $12 a day for International, but that is per day per device and you must be much closer to shore than the Starlink.

I made my post for others who had the same questions that I did. If you don't have a Starlink or don't want one, this post is not for you!

Before ATT bumped their International Day Pass up to $12 from $10, they changed their pricing so that it was $10 for the first device, and then $5 for each additional device. I guess maybe that's now $6 for each addtional device. I wish they thought of that before we took our kids, teens at the time, to London & Paris and paid $40/day to be able to use our cell phones.

Dh would love this Starlink mini if it could somehow be used in the cabin. I guess deck 5 on the Dream & Fantasy would work since those balconies extend further out and could get a full view of the sky.
Do you have to pay for a monthly service for it? Or just use it occasionally?

I should note that, once you know how, it's fairly easy to share one device's paid connection with others (such as on Royal/Celebrity) - as well as bypass the internal streaming limits imposed by the likes of Disney.

You do not have to pay a monthly service. Within the app, you can pause service. It is literally a slider in the app to pause/reactivate the service. No need to call anyone or go to a website.

I selected the "Roam Unlimited" for 30 days and unlimited GB which gave me "in-motion, international travel and coastal use" as well. There was also a 50GB plan which was $50 in the US.
