If Disney built a new WDW in the Middle East what would you want included if money was not an issue?
Saudi Arabia, UAE, or Jordan?Where in the middle east?
Disney has resorts in China....I wouldn't care less what they built. I'll never step foot in the Middle East. Why would I when the Islamic states revile women, Christians and Westerners in general? And how would Disney uphold their own diversity hiring policies when homosexuality is a crime punishable by death in many of those countries?
And? I will never set foot in China either, but that's neither here-nor-there. As a few have mentioned, The Middle East has cultural issues that simply aren't compatible with Disney as it is known in other areas of the world. China, on the other hand, although it is one of the most repressive regimes on earth, has a certain aspect of being enamoured with iconic parts of Western culture. Enough so that they're happy to appropriate them.Disney has resorts in China....
Disney has 4 Aladdin movies and an Aladdin cartoon TV show that explored aspects of Arabia. They could build a Disney Paris style of resort and a tailored California Adventure to start with. Disney is looking for revenue and the Middle East is a rich area for them to tap into. And? I will never set foot in China either, but that's neither here-nor-there. Nothing; I would never go. I'd want them to invest in places that I may attend. If Disney built a new WDW in the Middle East what would you want included if money was not an issue?
Tailored in what way? The middle east is so unstable right now. I don't think building a park in that area would even be on their radar. The point of the WDW in the Middle East would be to have a Disney experience tailored to that part of the world.
China is different.Disney has resorts in China....
I didn't say the negative things should be featured. Disney could also have more control with the theme parks and negotiate with the country's government on what's permissible within their resort. The question was not whether westerners would go. Only what could be built.Tailored in what way? Oppressing women?
Not by much.China is different.
Sure Disney could build whatever they want and it may even be profitable for them. I doubt many people on this forum would be going nor would we care what's included or how much money they spent. That was your question right?I didn't say the negative things should be featured.
