I Wonder if Disney Will Get Mad if We Disassemble the Furniture. Sept/Oct 2024 TR! (Updated 4/4!)

Your food from France looks very good. Your swim also sounds delightful.
Yeah, France had some really good food this year!
However, good grief with those people next door! I'm glad they quieted down, but they should've known better than to be loud after 10:00pm in a hotel room. I realize that connecting rooms are less common these days (I've tried to book them at non-Disney hotels and they're surprisingly hard to find!), but the adults should've called the front desk rather than body slam the door. :sad2:
Oh I know, it was crazy! I'm just glad they stopped trying to get into our room and quieted down after I banged on the door!

Day 8, Part 1: Instant Karma!

We got up pretty early this morning, around 5:45. We showered and got ready, and around 6:20 I took a look at the next bus arrival time in the app and saw that one was arriving at 6:27.

So we hustled to finish getting ready before heading downstairs. We lucked out and saw the bus was waiting when we got there (thank goodness our room was right next to the elevators!).

We hopped on, and the bus left soon after, we had the bus to ourselves, until of course we swung by the BC where we picked up a ton of people.

We then made our way over to the Animal Kingdom!

We arrived at 6:50, but security wasn’t open yet, so we got in the long line to wait.

Security opened right at 7 and we made it through and over to the tapstiles to wait some more. Early entry was at 7:30 this morning, but they let us in at 7:15.

While most people rushed off to do rides, we took our time wandering in taking pictures!

After getting a bunch of pictures we made our way over to the entrance to Asia where they were holding people until opening. There were only two other families there, so we just stood off to the side since there was clearly not going to be any big rush.

Not many other people showed up during that time, so we just stayed off to the side since clearly we’d be some of the first to get on Everest due to the lack of people waiting here so we didn’t feel the need to crowd the entrance of the land.

On the other hand, while waiting, these two teens showed up and pushed their way in front of the families who had been there waiting for a while already. But karma was quick this morning, since a CM saw this happen, so when the land opened, he walked us all back to Everest, and while the two teens sprinted through the queue once we arrived, the families they cut were escorted through the rides exit to be the first ones on the ride!

We got to the load station shortly after the teens and they were so mad that the families they cut were already on the train and had taken the back rows! HA!!!!!! So they begrudgingly took seats in the middle, and we decided to grab the front row since we could pick our seats. Love instant karma!

After the first ride, my mom had had enough, but I wanted to go again, so she went over to the overlook to watch me come down and I headed back through the queue.

Since there was still practically no one there, I once again got to select my car.

This time my mom got a video of me coming down the hill! She has tried this before, but always ended up filming the wrong train, so it was great she finally got the right one! I’m the one with my arms in the air!

Once I finished my second ride, it was just about time for our LL for the Safari so we headed over there. Of course we took pictures on the way!

Next up: All the Rides!

Huzzah for the instant karma! I like it when the CMs do something about the line jumpers and overly pushy people

AK is absolutely stunning in the early morning and dusk hours. My favorite! Nice shots on Everest

Right?!? I was so happy to see the CM did that! I wish that happened more often!

Isn't it? I love AK, it is just such a beautiful park!

First ride of the day Everest!!! Love the instant karma as well.
I love Everest, I could ride it over and over for hours if they let me! It was so cool to see the CM actually notice what happened and made it right, I was so impressed!

Day 8, Part 2: All the Rides!

We last left off heading over to Africa to use our LL for the safari!

We took pictures of a practically empty park on the way over.

When we got to the entrance to the Safari we saw the LL wasn’t open yet. It was a bit confusing since the standby line was open, and it wrapped past the entrance blocking the entrance to the LL completely. So there was a huge group of us with LLs that were just standing across from the entrance super unorganized. While waiting a bunch of people came up trying to cut through the standby line to get to the LL entrance, but we ended up telling them that this random cluster of people were already in line for the LL. Super weird they opened the LL so late, they didn’t open it until about 8:15.

Once they did finally open the LL we were on quickly. The safari was just ok, I know everyone says to go first thing in the morning since there are more animals out and they’re more active, but that has not been our experience at all over the years. This morning there were hardly any animals out so it wasn’t the best safari. Our best usually have been mid-afternoon safaris oddly enough.

We did get to see this bird building this nest! You can see a branch in his beak here.

And this is the nest he was building!

PXL_20241004_120904983.jpg

Oh, and another really cool thing about this morning though is that the lions were out and moving around, and the male was roaring and chuffing when we drove by. That was awesome to see and hear.

PXL_20241004_122315791.jpg

Also, random aside, when we were staying at AKL in December, we often times would hear the lion roaring in the morning while we were out on our balcony, that was surprising and so cool!

After the Safari it was into our return time for FoP, so we made our way over there. It was a great ride as always! And, just to toot my own horn for a second, I have lost quite a bit of weight in the past year, and for the first time ever I didn’t need the CM to push the back restraint into place!!! It was such a great moment to easily fit on those seats!!!!

We had some time to kill after our ride, so took some pictures around Pandora.

After getting our pictures we headed over towards Dinoland.

I so glad you said this. I was there this week and did a first thing safari on Thursday. And the safari was ok. But I have had much better ones at so many other times of the day. Late mornings or late afternoon are often amazing. There were zero giraffes on the am one and that is something that you almost 100% see.

We've found that the early morning safaris had very few animals out. It is pointless for them to open AK at 7:30am when the animals aren't out until later. We had a 9:30 am LL for the safari in February and we saw lots of animals at that time of the morning.

Yeah, I mean in theory it makes sense the animals would be more active during the cooler parts of the day, especially during hot weather, but unfortunately the animals just don't all seem to be out first thing in the morning! Definitely the best safaris we've been on have been during the hottest parts of the day :rotfl:

My best safari's have been on rain days regardless of how hot it is. The animals seem to like the rain! That said, I don't love the Safari and I try and skip it if I can get away with it lol.

That is really cool! I don't like Animal Kingdom, but we LOVE the Animal Kingdom Lodge, go figure :rotfl2: I would have loved to hear the lion roar.

That is awesome! I love those non scale victories!

Yeah, I need to remember when booking LLMP to book the safari for later, it seems a lot of the animals don't come out until later in the morning.

Oh yes! The rain definitely makes them more active. Funny enough, when we did the Wild Afrika Trek and Savor the Savanna it poured both times, and I think it actually made for better tours since the animals were all super active!

It was super cool to hear that, I had no idea we'd be able to hear it from our balcony! I totally get the love for the lodge, it is such a beautiful resort, and enjoying coffee on the balcony in the morning while watching giraffes and zebras is amazingf!

Right? This was such a big deal, I was so giddy after that ride! Now the next test is Tron, I've been so afraid of trying that one out, but I think I may try our next trip.

Good job on the weight loss. Same position here. I was there for AP/DVC previews for Tron in 2023 and did not fit on the bike. It definitely motivated me a bit to work harder. I did not try the bikes in Sept 2023, but I did last March and I fit. I was very proud of myself for that little accomplishment. And I have stayed fitting since (Sept 2024, Mar 2025)/ Although in March the cast member did have to give it a bit more of a push to click, but I fit and no one is taking that away from me!!! But means I may be working a bit harder leading to fall to ensure I still fit.

I usually have good luck with the safari around 9:30 ish. The animals are out and usually want breakfast so they are roaming around. Also, if there are babies around, they often only come out in the morning hours. But, I think it's live animals so every day is going to be a little different, right?

Thank you! And nice work on yours as well! It is such a great feeling to actually see the differences in things like fitting on the rides, definitely motivates me to keep going!

Good to know, we'll have to hit up the safari a bit later one morning to see the difference!

Day 8, Part 3: That Time I Got Hit by a Bird

We last left off heading over to Dinoland! Our first stop was Dinosaur.

PXL_20241004_132444448.jpg

Gotta get the sad Dinosaur picture.

PXL_20241004_132450999.jpg

Afterwards I really wanted to play some of the carnival games since they’d be going away (now gone), so we headed over to do that next.

PXL_20241004_134114088.jpg

We only got enough tickets to play two games. I let my mom pick the first one, and she picked the basketball game. I wasn’t a fan of this, this is one the more notoriously hard carnival games to win, but she loves basketball so I went with it.

Not surprising, we didn’t win.

I decided for my game to do the whack a mole, but the dino version. We had to wait a few minutes for the game to reset from the previous players, but I was feeling good since it was just my mom and I were playing so one of us would definitely win.

Well, I was feeling good until about 2 seconds before the game started this guy rushes up to join, ugh. He ended up beating me by less than a second, we seriously hit the score at the same time, but the CM gave it to him. Not going to lie, we were pretty annoyed that he rushed up right as we were about to start. We hung around the area for a bit later and noticed this guy was doing this to other families too. He would wait until just before a game started, and would rush over and beat that family that was already there on games that they would win something since they were the only ones. What a jerk.

We spent some more time in Dinoland getting a few more pictures before moving on.

PXL_20241004_134134575.jpg

We had some time before our next activity so we headed to the front of the park to do some shopping. I ended up picking up a Dug shirt since I love Up and my dogs name is Dug!

As we were exiting the store I saw the parrot show was about to start, so we made our way over there to watch. I love this show, it’s so cute!

PXL_20241004_131929592.jpg

This time, as the birds were flying away, one ended up hitting my Minnie ears! Afterwards I was looking through the pictures I took and saw I managed to get a picture of the bird that hit me!

PXL_20241004_131930244~2.jpg

HAAAAAA!

After the show we had some time before our next plans, so took a bunch of pictures around the ToL.
