Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Brenda,
That Jay is one sweet, photogenic, well employed, hungry, patient, smiley, and loving type of guy!

Rock on you too!

Hey everybody! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the kind words for the hubba ... he's working late tonight but I emailed him and told him that the DIS-foodies gave him two thumbs up for sweet creativity! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm getting close to starting that pre-trippie ... I need a pick-me-up, so keep your eyes open. :goodvibes

Here's a picture of the menu that started it all ...

Commander's Palace, New Orleans, April 2005.

Our very first tasting menu and our very first wine pairing ... to say that we were tipsy by the end is an understatement. :rotfl2:

They gave us the entire menu as a souvenir and Jay pulled it all apart and then framed it ... the chef signed it in French / Cajun and it reads: Laissez les Bon Temps Roulez (Let the Good Times Roll!).

So, do we need to stop posting on this thread? :rotfl2: I was looking forward to it reaching 200,000 replies!

Nah... we can multitask... (usually with a snack in one hand...;) )

I was still planning on using this thread to let you guys know about blog updates until we leave for WDW ... unless the mods decide to close it down.

Then once we get home and I start the new stuff I'll just make that thread "update central." :lmao:

And Tink ... I have a snack in hand right now! :rotfl2:

Last night was Back to School Night... UGH! Don't get me wrong, I like it and all but MAN I needed a drink! Believe it or not, I don't drink much at home and everytime I do, now, I think of you, Brenda! :lmao: (man that's a lotta comma's)

So I whipped out some vanilla ice cream (for lack of any other mixers) and splashed on a GENEROUS pour of amaretto and sat down to Dis. The booze made me feel "update-y" so I actually got some work done on my TR! :surfweb:

Thanks for inspiring me yet again!

Happy Friday! I just posted the third installment of our very busy Saturday in Boca Raton ... this was the formal dinner and includes food porn!!

Come visit us when you have time! :goodvibes

Hey Brenda

I haven't been around for a while and absolutely loved your Boca Raton blog! We went on that very same Everglade tour back in March, when I saw the pic of the dock I recognized it! I was showing it to DH going "look they were at the same place!" That very same peacock was even strutting around on top of the building. Your yachting and dinner exeriences sounded decadent don't forget your DIS friends when you win the lottery and buy one of those ;) what a Dis meet that would be!

I thought about you guys recently, DH and I went to a beer and cheese tasting at our local Wild Wings. We're beer snobs and believe it or not they have the best beer list in our area. We had 12 very good beers and cheeses, and it was just $25 pp. I thought it was a good deal. Whenever I'm relating something from your blog or a TR to DH I say 'they're the people who live in St Louis, they did the brewmasters dinner' he always knows who you are !

I'm sure I've read before but don't remember, when is your F&W trip? Ours is 7 days from today I can't wait

Hi Lynn! Thanks for checking out the most recent updates ... we had a good time that weekend even though it was crazy busy. Too too funny that you and your DH visited the same place earlier this year! I loved those peacocks ... they were practically tame, weren't they? And did you see all the cats wandering around? That place was practically a zoo! :lmao:

Oh yes... we plan on having a big par-tay with our DIS-friends once we hit that jackpot! :cool1:

Yum! A beer and cheese tasting ... I hope Whole Foods decides to offer something like this during the winter months. Otherwise Jay and I will just have to make one up at our house!

Our trip to WDW starts on October 8th and ends on October 17th. Do we overlap at all? :cool1:

Hi everyone! I just posted about our final travel day from the Boca Raton trip ... no pictures on this one but some funny moments from another round of endless travel and some general thoughts on the resort etc.

Also, for those of you who are interested ... I've started a new thread for the next round of food reviews. The link is in my signature ... We Smelled It ... It Had to be Eaten! Come on by and say hello if you have a chance! :goodvibes

Future blog updates will be announced on that thread rather than this one.

Thanks so much for your encouragement and cyber-foodie friendship ... it's been a blast and I hope the next set of food travels meet your expectations.

B. :goodvibes

Brenda,

Long time no read!
OMG that yacht. I'd have a major depression getting on our little wakeboarding boat after that baby. Probably won't have to worry about Jay's company needing a bailout.
BTW, you look gorgeous in that varoom varoom dress. Looking good lady.:thumbsup2

Hi Deb-O (short for Deb from Oregon ... ;) ... you like?)

Thanks for taking the time to slog through the blog ... glad you enjoyed it! That yacht was amazing ... and a little depressing. Oh well, whaddya gonna do?

Thanks for the kind words ... I wasn't really happy with my appearance but you made me feel a little better. :flower3:

Have you been to F&W yet or are you still waiting to go this fall?
