Silly question I know, but important to me. That is the one food item that I have a hard time keeping in control. Just finished watching Dr. Phil and he suggested to a smoker to just throw out all of her cigarettes, and then he said that in order to succeed you need to make an environment of success. I have chips in the house, and yes, I will fall to temptation. So, I should throw them out, but silly enough that thought worries me. So, just to set my mind at ease, and that I won't wither away, and fall apart without them, tell me how often you eat chips so that I know it is OK to toss them out.

*** and before you suggest the healthier alternative, I absolutely do not like pretzels!!! I don't mind crackers, etc.

I eat them too often. They're one of my major weaknesses. I love the salty crunch of chips. I have them atleast 5 days a week, sometimes 7 days.:o

Golden Flake bbq is my favorite.:)

Ok, that wasn't too helpful! LOL!!!! right now my favorite are Jays, but that can vary. I think I should toss them, what do you guys think?

Chips are one of my downfalls so I don't keep them in the house. I buy them every now and then if I want them bad enough and get the smallest bag possible just to satisfy the craving. However, If I had some here there is no way I'd be throwing them out! Sorry, I know that doesn't help you any...

I'm not that big of a potato chip fan. I think I eat potato chips a few times a year. My weakness is apple chips. It's a good thing that they come in small bags. That's how I keep it under control. We only go grocery shopping every 10 days or so. One bag is what I get. It got to the point where I wouldn't even get one every time. Seemed to work.

Sorry.......I won't be much help either......chips are my major weakness too!!! I eat them way too often!!!
My advice........Don't watch Dr. Phil

Have you thought about dried fruit chips? Healthy and you can still get that 'crunchy' potato chip feeling. I've had them before, they're not too bad.

I eat them ALL THE TIME! They are one of my biggest weaknesses. Don't toss them out- send them to me! ;)

Have you tried the flavored Quaker rice snacks called Quakes? They are pretty good. They taste more like flavored popcorn rather than rice cakes.

browneyes- It is the crunch that gets me as well!
:teeth:

I was just thinking of eating some chips & dips for a snack tonight! :teeth:
I don't eat them all that much, but I do love chips & dip.
I agree w/ Lars, don't watch Dr. Phil! :teeth: :teeth:

All salty snacks are my weakness. I eat potato chips almost every day. I need to stop doing that.

I had to eat a bag every other night......I love them.....well one day I thought I was going to die.......my stomach was in one big KNOT....and the doctor said it was probably because of the chips....eating these just set my stomach off ....well I have been good....I only eat them maybe once a month and during the holidays with chips and dips.....OH MY......another problem has arrived.....I had my blood test done and I have high cholesterol.......so I am trying to be good for six months....and we shall see......good luck....

When I go to my in-laws house. For some reason my MIL always buys chips and dip for me when we visit. She only buys them when we (meaning me) come to visit and I only eat them when I am at her house. (Chips don't mean Pringles do, they?) Then opps, I bought some today, they were on sale for .99 at the supermarket.

Never mind, I eat chips once in a great while. My MIL does not buy chips for anyone else in the family, they always comment how nice it is that I am visiting because they love to eat chips and dip.

I got addicted to chips and dip the Christmas before last. I couldn't stop eating them!

I never, ever have eat potato chips alone unless they are vinager flavored or home made from Amish country. I only ever buy those two. I just don't like plain chips. I never, ever buy vinager chips unless they are in the little tiny bag at the convenience store, maybe 4 times a year and I only get the real potato chips about once a year. :)

If I eat a sandwich then I eat chips. Can you imagine how often I eat chips? ;) I love them. I buy the little individual packs of Frito-Lay for DDs lunch and I can then keep myself from eating the whole bag.
A few years ago I lost 20 lbs. and still ate my chips. I only took a few and then wouldn't allow myself to go back to the bag. It seemed to work. Why aren't I doing that now? LOL
Good luck. I watched him too.:D

Funny thing....we NEVER have chips or munchies in the house. The only time we do is when my friend comes over on a Friday night....and she knows we never have them and she will bring over a couple bags.

I have never been a big chip eater ever...and now, on my low carb diet.....I don't touch them at all.

I would just toss them and do the celery stick/carrot stick thing.

Wow, you guys are surprising me! I thought I was in the minority on loving chips so much. Maybe there is a chip lovers support group?

I only buy chips for the house when we are having a party, like the Superbowl gathering we will be having.

I mostly eat chips if I am at someone's house and they have them out, usually a party.

Chips are my major downfall and that is why I have limited myself to only purchasing them when we are having company. The bad part is if the company doesn't eat all of them I feel I need to get rid of them by eating them....I don't want to waste food;)

Only when DW has previously opened a bag...;)

Could you hang on a minute while I get my hand out of the bag so I can type an answer?? :)

I eat chips quite frequently.. Maybe once a day - or once every other day.. It's about the only thing I "munch" on and the salt always helps to settle my stomach if it's feeling queasy for any reason..
