I'm a DVC member and agree it's a terrible usage for the space. Especially when there's already a lounge not too many steps away in the Imagination pavilion. What a disappointment.

IMO,it is an insult to all of World Showcase to use such a large, prominent space in one of the Countries to SELL DADGUM DVC!

May as well rename it to Hotel du DVC!

Blame Canada for not utilizing the space. They could have hosted Products of Canada, oh that's right they closed that retail store. The Epcot team is just making good use of space that would have otherwise gone empty.

Do you have a specific suggestion for how the space might have been used?

It "sounds" like just the Sales Office and Poly Tower room,but we'll just have to wait and see for sure.

One interesting detail is that there is a Postcard in the new Frontierland DVC Lounge indicating Maple Taffy will be part of the Chateau de Voyage experience.







We decided to stop at Chateau de Voyage on the train home. You were right, that maple taffy is the best I’ve ever tasted, and the views of the Rocky Mountains were something the children and I will never forget!

It's not a DVC lounge, it's a sales center. Open to anyone so they can sell more DVC. Like the one at Disney Springs.

Yes, it will be a sales office and no it won't also have a member lounge.
Interestingly (to me) the model rooms are not full size. I'm not sure how potential buyers will take to that.

SO LAME!!!! Canada could have a few more shops, OR Food kiosk bring back Beaver Tails!! We also own DVC and are disgusted by this. This does NOT belong in the World Showcase.

SO LAME is a great description.

World Showcase should be OFF LIMITS to things like this-it doesn't fit the purpose of World Showcase.

makes me very sad at the decisions being made. Hope NO ONE goes there and it gets shut down fast. I remember in the 80's there was shops there ... they could have brought back a shop and a food area. The pavilion has space and its beautiful back there. Theres freaking model rooms at the Boardwalk! leave Canada alone.

The space was managed by Canada. They closed the store due to poor performance many years ago.

Getting people to sacrifice any park time (not just Epcot) is a serious issue for DVC. They try to compensate by offering some kind of compensation (not sure what that is currently) for their time. Somebody thought it might be easier to convince people to talk to a guide if they didn't have to leave the park. Time will tell if this is the case.

Except is is up to Canada to decide and they chose to release the space, and Disney found a way to right off the space by choosing to remodel it and use it for DVC Sales support. It is a simple business decision based on space utilization and accounting.

I think a Bar/Lounge would be very successful in that space.

If nothing else they could have made it a space for rotating exhibits of Canadian culture.

But instead Canada gets "Welcome to DVC Showcase."

hoping it sits there with a guide standing around..... and I agree any type of food beverage kiosk with also some stuff to sell would do well. Morocco sits mostly empty with nothing back there, and nothing is being done about that.

Yes it is still running for many years as a shorter 12 minute version still called O` Canada.
