Honda Odyssey= Has anyone ever received this minivan as their rental?

I'm just wondering if anyone has ever received a honda odyssey as their mini van rental? If so, what rental company did you use?

DH and I are planning on planning on buying a mini van this summer(maybe a odyssey). We are renting a mini van (through Alamo) for our trip the end of the month and thought it would be great if we could rent a honda odyssey for the week and then we can check it out.

I can't think of any rental company that rents the Odyssey.

You will mostly see Dodge Caravan or Grand Caravan, Chevy Uplander, Pontiac and I've seen some Kia.

I've never received an Odyssey in the nearly 100 rental cars I've done a year. In fact, the only time I've ever even seen a Honda products in a rental lot, they were an Accord at Enterprise in LAX and a Civic Hybrid at SFO.

Go to Alamo's website and look at their fleet at your rental location..that will tell you if it is one of the available vehicles. I don't think I have ever seen one at MCO however.

I do not believe Honda sells to rental fleet programs, but you may see an occasional Honda in a rental lot.

I've never seen an Odyssey in a rental car lot, even in California where the choices are much broader than Florida. You can get plenty of Toyota Siennas in the rental fleet as they are the 8 passenger option with Alamo. I read in Automotive News last week that Toyota sold 54% of the total 2008 Siennas sold to rental car companies and fleet purchasers in October and November, so there should be plenty of them in the rental fleets.

If you want to try an Odyssey for an extended period, check with your local dealers as in our area you can take any Honda for a 24 hour test drive at two of the bigger dealers.

I just spoke with a friend of mine who works for Honda USA in California. The only car they presently offer for fleets in the US is the Natural Gas Civic. The only reason that Enterprise had the Hondas I saw was because they get their cars from local dealerships.
