Ok Friends......

We are going to Hollywood Studios twice on our trip in March. I'm stumped on what to do for food.

I don't want.....
Brown Derby - to expensive
SciFi - we don't like how someone has to be alone in the backseat
Hollywood & Vine - we're not a fan of the food
Mama Melrose's - we can have Italian anywhere
Backyard BBQ - DD21 and I went last year and we loved the theme, but not the food
Prime Time - is a possibility, but we've ate there many times already

We rarely try quick service at Hollywood Studios, and would be willing to, if there was something special. The reason we never try different places is because we aren't big eaters and when we have reservations, I want to be hungry to eat at our reservation.

My family includes myself, DH and DD21

If anyone has some yummy suggestions for dinner, I'd really appreciate you sharing them.

Thanks :smickey:

You've named every sit down restaurant in HS. :)

For quick service, I personally love Docking Bay 7. It's something different.
I know....that's why I'm stumped - LOL!!
I will probably make a reservation at Prime Time, just to be safe, and then cancel it a day before if we decide not to go.
And thank you for the suggestion :-)

Docking Bay 7 is nice because they only let people inside who are eating there. This means there are usually open seats both inside and outside.

I like Woody's Lunchbox or Ronto Wraps. They're both simple but tasty, and the prices aren't too bad.

I've heard mostly good reviews for Backlot Express and ABC Commissary, but it's been forever since I've been to either. I pretty much always do the first three.

Our go to places QS:
Pizza Rizzo - Only the meatball sub - it is decent not great not bad comes with a Caesare salad in a cup (salid in a cup is different I guess)
Commissary anything chicken - I like the club sandwich my son likes the grilled cheese as it is chicken and grilled cheese my wife the salad all chicken. Bonus real plates that are plastic but still nice.
Not a fan of Docking Bay the food is not bad but do not care for the seating.
Backlot was not good for us not bad... I had a salad with chicken nothing like Commissary

Ronto wraps are tasty. We also end up at Backlot Express a lot. It's basic theme park food, but it's usually done well. They have a cuban sandwich that is very good and huge. We also like Baseline. Your only options are charcuterie and a pretzel but that works for us (along with a beer :)). My son loved the pork tacos at ABC Commissary a couple of months ago. I've only had dessert there since they switched things up a couple of years ago but they have some really interesting things on the menu.

You didn't mention Woody's Backyard BBQ. We liked it, but if you go, I highly suggest booking a late lunch and eating lunch/dinner there and skip a meal. It's all you can eat and they are generous.

The Ronto Wraps are probably the best thing, but ABC Commissary and Docking Bay 7 offer pretty good indoor quick service with unique menus. ABC has a self-serve soda-fountain, which is always welcome. Docking Bay 7 has unique food offerings, however the seating is somewhat less comfortable. If Ronto Roasters is closed, I think they do offer them in DB7 (when RR is closed).

Oh yeah.......I just edited my original post - thank you!!
I can't believe I forgot that.

We went last year and we loved the theme, but we didn't love the food. We went shortly after it opened and it took f o r e v e r to get out - like 2 1/2 hours and that was with me saying we had to go for a Slinky Dog Lightning Lane. I was warned by other DISers that went before me how long it was taking in there, so I was prepared for that. But until you are actually there, you realize how long 2 1/2 hours actually is, and how you would like to be doing something else. We should give in another chance sometime. I'm glad you all enjoyed it :-)

I'm a Ronto Wrap fanatic. I get several every time we go....
I also enjoy Docking Bay 7, and I have tried and enjoyed a few things at Woody's Lunchbox. We used to love ABC Commissary, but haven't been in years, no idea how the food is. There are just no TS places we seek out at HS. We either leave and go to Epcot, or I'll grab a Ronto Wrap, or Docking Bay 7 ( just eat my Ronto wrap in there w the family) . DH likes PizzaRizzo....I have no idea why. It's terrible.

Not commonly mentioned, but I love the plant based “lobster roll” at Rosie’s All American. Also count me in the BBQ brisket sandwich at Woody’s camp, too.

Liked the freshly made burgers with real tomato slices and crispy lettuce at Rosie’s and the roasted chicky at ABC before we discovered the lounge at Brown Derby.

I agree with Ronto roasters it’s a great lunch spot. A family favorite is a wookie cookie from backlot express it’s a crème filled oatmeal cookie sandwich. We used to love the mac and cheese from the dockside diner topped with pulled pork but they now only have it with bacon on top, they sell hotdogs there too.
The farmers market area by RNR and TT has a few different quick service options too. To me it also depends on the time of year you are going to WDW. In Jan and Feb it can be too cold and windy to want to eat at a few of the quick service places as they only have outdoor seating. In the summer too it’s nice to relax in a cold restaurant when it feels like 100 degrees. 50’s prime time and brown derby are my favorites at HS.

I'll echo what a lot of others have said.
Ronto wrap is awesome, and I've had great meals at both Docking Bay 7 and ABC Commissary.

With a DD21, you might check out OGAs that has some new actual food items. Don’t rule out BD lounge. The Cobb salad is reasonable and tasty.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and recommendations
I make several itineraries and then we have a family meeting to decide which one we like best. I’m going to also show them this post and your answers. I love planning the trip and so do they 🙂
