Help! I need a quick answer. RE: Seller transferring points during sale.

Just want to update this thread. This resale I was obviously nervous about... My deed recorded over a month ago and Disney never received the deed. So the seller has had my $22,000 and full access to all the points for a month and now we still have another few weeks once Disney actually gets the deed. I am sick to my stomach and I really hope the seller is an honest person and I didnt just get totally screwed.

SO OVER RESALE
So, so sorry to hear this. Closings always go better with the Calif/FL properties. This is for AUL, right?

Just going to take a wild guess here - is First American the title company? Because all of this looks like one of their signature botched closings. Just search something like "First American" and "Problems" using the search bar at the top of the forum. I'm sure you'll find others with very similar stories.

The good news is that most people are honest.
I hope so. The whole process this time has just been different. It was Redweek not the typical broker we see used here on the boards and that had me nervous from the get go. Made my offer in September I think and it was not a delayed closing listing.

Is this something that the closing company should be dealing with?? I don't really get how they gave the money to the seller without confirming that Disney had received what they needed to make the transfer happen.
Exactly. To top it off I even told them I was nervous about the seller having access while Disney does their processing. She said she understands but they have to give the money to seller at closing. Then I guess she decided to just not send it over.

It is Aulani. It was Fidelity National Title this time. I used First American before and didnt have an issue.

Maybe wait for the while process to finish and then request a refund or partial refund on title fees. My guess is that you've paid $1k for AUL closing for a service that was riddled with incompotence.
