We're heading to Disneyland in June. Normally we just drive to Target on Harbor for groceries (water and some snacks.) But we're considering just doing delivery this time since Target is also so crowded and we're super tired when we arrive.

For WDW, we did Walmart delivery. But is that a good option for Anaheim?

I've love to hear people's recent experiences with various grocery delivery. Walmart? Target? Von's?

Also - can they just be dropped off with bell service if we haven't arrived yet? (We're driving from Nebraska an we know what day we're arriving...but not sure on time.)

Can’t speak for CGV but we instacart without a problem to the DLH. They just drop it at bell services.

We’re at Aulani now and did the same, instacart order from Target and they dropped it at bell services.

I would like to do this too but we wouldn't be arriving until about 7:00pm, will they still deliver that late? We would have perishable milk so if they delivered earlier would Bell Services cold store the goods or not.

I usually use Amazon Fresh when I stay at the Grand, which will drop off with Bell services if you're not there when they arrive. Should work for other services too, I'd just make sure to add a note to your order for them to mark bags that contain refrigerated or frozen items so Bell Services knows.

Adding: Amazon Fresh has delivery windows starting with 6:00AM-8:00AM and ending with 8:00PM-10:00PM (depending on capacity, time slots can fill up and then become unavailable).

Is Bell service located at the front desk or is it a separate area? Do they charge you to hold groceries or anything like that?

We just stayed at Grand Cali and did target delivery via Shipt. We ordered refrigerated, frozen, and non perishables. It worked fine - we called down when we were ready to have them brought up. Someone on another thread mentioned that Grand Cali does not have a freezer in bell services and to time the food delivery to be close to when you are going to have it sent up. That said, all we had for freezer items were highly processed food (breakfast sandwiches and frozen pizzas).

Just did this with instacart this week. They have a fridge. It’s at the end of the front desk; depending how busy they are and who you get they may have you get in the bell services line after you check in or they may just flag someone to bring it to you there.

You can also have it delivered by bell services to your room, and you can have it delivered alongside your luggage if you do that. Bell services is going to want to take possession of your luggage when you check in anyway. We just did that.

But then when we had 2 additional items delivered mid-trip, I picked them up at the desk for my own convenience.

Oh and as to from where? I wouldn’t to Walmart there (even though I would in Orlando).

Vons is gonna be EXPENSIVE.

Ralph’s is a Kroger chain, so depending where you are coming from Nebraska you may have Bakers, and it’s gonna be the same stuff as those stores at perhaps 15% higher prices.

Stater Bros is my personal favorite SoCal chain but they’re light on the special diet foods if you are into those.

I have done Walmart grocery delivery to the Grand and it went very smoothly. We were not even at the hotel when the order was delivered and the hotel kept our milk refrigerated in their holding area. We called bell services for the order to be delivered to our room when we got back. The only cost you have to pay to the hotel is tipping bell services.

Not sure why you think Vons will be all that more expensive than Ralphs.

Vons is part of the Albertsons Company which includes: Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United Supermarkets, Pavilions, Star Market, Haggen, Carrs, Kings Food Markets, and Balducci's Food Lovers Market.

It appears you answered your own question.

I worked in the grocery industry for a decade selling to these guys.

Kroger believes at its core that it can make more money in the long run by investing in lower prices to drive more volume per store, similar to what HEB, Meijer, etc have pulled off.

Albertsons-Safeway believes at its core that it has to generate enough free cash flow to make its next bond payment to stay afloat.

🤷‍♂️
