What's the difference between a resort view and a preferred view studio? I don't want one that faces the car parks

Are you staying in a resort room or a deluxe room? Grand Floridian villas are in two different buildings. If you’re staying in a resort room, preferred view is toward the lagoon and resort view is toward the pool/other buildings. If you’re in a deluxe room, preferred is also lagoon view and I believe resort views are toward the rest of the resort and the monorail line. I can’t recall any VGF rooms that overlook parking.

If you are in a DVC deluxe room, you may have a view of a parking lot. It won't be directly in front/below you, but rooms at the front of the resort will see a parking lot.

There are 2 types of studios at the VGF. The resort studios are located in the Big Pine Key building & have 2 queen beds. The resort view resort studios face the courtyard pool towards the GF lobby building. Lower floors look at buildings, higher floors have more panoramic views. The preferred view resort studios face the lake looking towards the Poly. No resort studios will face a parking lot.
The other type of studio at the VGF is located in the original villa building. These studios are called deluxe studios & have 1 queen bed & 1 Murphy pull down queen sofa/bed. The resort view deluxe studios will face towards the resort/beach pool or towards the parking lot. The preferred view deluxe studios will face the lake towards the Poly. Here are 2 ‘resort’ (formerly called standard) views I’ve had in the original VGF building which faced the parking lot:

Go for a preferred view studio, it has a great lake view towards the Poly. Resort view studios are good too, especially on higher floors, but they’ll be more focused on the pool and resort areas. DVC deluxe rooms could end up facing the parking lot.

I guess those technically are parking lot views, although I like watching the monorail so much I would not think of them as bad views.

Yeah, while I prefer the standard/resort views on the other side looking towards the main resort area - my favorite so far:

I don’t mind the parking lot facing villas in the villa building because the lot isn’t super close to the building & I really like watching the monorails .
