Garage sale - what snacks/drinks do you sell?

We are doing a neighborhood garage sale this weekend and I was wondering what sells the best as far as refreshments(water, soda, etc) (cookies, snacks?). I have stocked up on the water bottles that have been on sale, but what else sells good?

Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee! Cold bottled water would be a hit too.

We just had a sale a couple of weeks ago and the weather was a little chilly in the morning so we sold hot chocolate and coffee and the hot chocolate was a huge hit!! Also sold homemade cookies and ricke krispie treats and I think the rice krispie treats were gone within 2 hours and they are so easy to make.

This past weekend I made some cookies out of an easy recipe (1 box cake mix, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup oil & a handfull of chocolate chips). They cost me about 75 cents a dozen to make and I wrapped them up in little cellophane bags with a ribbon and sold them for $2.00 a dozen. I sold 25 dozen in about 4 hours. My pop/water didn't sell very well, but it wasn't a very sunny day.

I sold a lot of soda and water at mine last year. Try individually wrapped chips, cookies and donuts (we got them at Sam's club).

People just can't seem to resist homemade baked goods.. I'd go with brownies, cookies, muffins - even individually wrapped slices of homemade breads.. Something they can hold in their hand (in a napkin) and munch on as they're walking around..

Also, during the morning hours, I'm sure that coffee would be a big hit!

we always make blueberry muffins, cookies, and have coffee. my dd sits at that table and can sure sell those muffins!!! she sells out everytime!!! oh one time we did cupcakes also. good luck with your sale

I am doing $1 for water or soda, am not sure about any snacks yet but am also letting kids sell glow bracelets for $1 each or 6 for $5

Well, I never thought anyone would buy homemade things. I personally wouldn't, but it would be cheaper!!! May have to try that.

We just had a garage sale last weekend.
My son sold rice krispie bars & they were all taken. I told him he would keep the money from the rice krispie bars. He made $20, he was pretty happy. We should of made more as they were gone fairly quickly.
We sold ours 50 cents a piece, they were pretty good size too!

at the risk of sounding negative - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are selling donuts, or any individual baked goods, please individually wrap them. We went to a garage sale a couple weeks ago where the parents were letting their little kids sell krispy kremes & my DD11 wanted one so I gave the money to the little kid & they began to take a donut out of the box with their bare hands to hand to my daughter but she told them she would like to get her own. EEEWWWWW!!!!!! I know they are innocent to the nasties of doing things like that but PLEASE, individually wrap stuff before hand because hands get quickly dirty/germy after touching garage sale stuff & money.

I've been garage saling every saturday lately & see lots of kids having their own little stands but absolutely no supervision, cups dropped all over the ground & them picking them back up to pour lemonade in them, open pitchers of drinks where anything can fly or drop in, touching other peoples food, etc. YUCK!!!

dang - sorry for so many posts.

soda cans & bottles of water I would sell at 50cents each
(50c x 12 cans = $6.00, possibly making double the price paid for a case of soda if it was bought on sale - 50c x 24 bottles of water = $12, I think most 24 pack cases of water go for about $4.99-5.99 right?)

little bitty bags of chips maybe 25c or 50c depending on how much you paid for the pack.

How did you wrap them?

We wrapped them in cling wrap. It worked out really good.
