Just got a knock at our RV from a Fort ranger ... Fort campers have to clear out by 3PM 11/9. Been on hold for 30 minutes with Disney reservation as they will try to move us to other accommodations. So far it sounds like the cabins and parks are OK, this may only be the campers. No word on when the Fort may re open to tents and RVs other than as soon as possible

Good luck to everyone at the Fort - hope WDW can find a hotel on property for you.

So far so good (or as good as can be expected) ... reservations comped us with a family suite at Art of Animation for 1 night. Right now they are only setting folks up with 1 night accommodations for the Fort ... maybe good new that things will be open on Thursday?

In any event, it sounds like Disney is doing what they can for us campers which is appreciated.

Looks like Nicole will be a strong tropical storm when it rolls over WDW, but 65mph is still enough to bring trees down. Better to not chance it when there are options and safer places to park your rig.

Stay dry and enjoy the empty parks the day before and day after.

We are on hold to figure out where we stay tomorrow. We may just head home and come back another time, will wait for the busy phone systems to help us. Poor people, we realize they are doing the best they can. Not Disneys fault, good luck to the others that have to evacuate, darn hurricanes, thought tornadoes were bad!!!!

We have been camping at Fort Wilderness since Sunday. A very wet park ranger just knocked on our camper and told us we had to leave by 3pm tomorrow. He said there would be a hotel available and gave me the number to call. I am currently on a 2 hr hold listening to disney music lol. The ranger said we could leave the camper or take it with us to the resort. We are parked under a lot of trees so probably will be taking the camper with us. He said the evacuation would probably be for 1 night.

Yep ... I felt really bad for the Fort CMs making rounds in this pouring rain dropping off the news. Not their fault and not a fun task at all.

We are being sent to Port Orleans for the night. We plan to take our camper with us. Don't want to chance any tree damage. We have pups with us, so I figured that Port Orleans would be where they would put us.

So they aren’t having people move their rigs to theme park lots?

Is there even room for rigs at the hotels? Some are 40+ ft (disconnected), then your toad or big truck will need spots too.

Best of luck to all!

Some have room. Others are pretty tight. We were relocated to Old Key West after Irma. There is no room there so we were told to drop the trailer at Port Orleans. Both the French Quarter and Riverside have very large lots.

Hopefully this rolls over with just rain and not so much wind and the Fort reopens quickly.

So the Fort is supposed reopen today pending damage assessment. We're current at Art of Animation. The manager said they are extending the Fort guests' checkout to 4PM today while we all wait to hear a go / no-go.

We arrived at FW Sunday (6th) and expected to checkout Saturday (12th). Around 8:00 pm on Tuesday (8th) night a Fort Ranger knocked on our coach door and gave us the attached Evacuation Notice.

Since we had our grandkids with us (6 yrs and 16 months) we made the decision to check out Wednesday am and just head back to NE Florida. We pulled out of our site (733) about 10:30 am stopped at the FW front desk and officially checked out to get a credit. The trip home (I4 east, I95 north to Yulee) was challenging at times due to the wind and rain, but made it safely home by 2:00pm.

With FW being evacuated Wed, closed on Thursday and maybe part of Friday, it just made sense for us to head home.
