Water parks and bathing suits... can't make a decision! I only own two pieces, and haven't been to a water park to ride the rides in years... I have heard many horror stories about lost tops and such, and have some myself from my tween years  :rotfl: ... I don't really like one pieces, but I'd rather be fully clothed than fully "the other way around" heh heh.... Just wondering what type of suit you choose!!! I may have to do early bathing suit shopping this year !! :goodvibes

I always wear a bikini, just make sure you tie it tight :teeth: I don't go on the really tall slides that go straight down (Humunga Cowabunga or Summit Plummit) I've been fine on all the other slides though.

Funny story- I was getting on the ski lifts at Blizzard Beach wearing just a bikini and had my camera in my hand- that's it. When I went to get on the ski lift, the CM said "You can't take your camera. Do you have a pocket?" :confused3 I looked down at my bikini and said does it look like i have a pocket?!? :rotfl: It was funny... -Steph

At 190lbs I wear a one piece mainly for other people's sake. :rotfl: but I also don't have to worry about my top rolling up while I'm heading south. Now that would be spectacular :earseek:

I wore a two piece at Typhoon Lagoon last year but then I hate water rides and didn't have to worry about my top getting pulled up (or vice versa!) Lots of people there were wearing two pieces so I doubt it's too much of an issue. If anything, the guys with me had more problems with their swimming shorts getting pulled into their *ahem* cracks quite painfully on Humunga Kowabunga (best name for a ride ever!)

From a guy's perspective... wear a thong.
JUST KIDDING!!!!!! :rotfl2:

No seriously, when we went on the Disney Cruise a couple of years ago, there was this lady wearing a thong and everybody was just staring at her. It was very inappropriate for the family atmosphere.

My wife has worn both one and two piece suits in the past. Both were fine. But neither one prevented the "riding up" problem that happens on the big slides. :rotfl:

So, in a nutshell, either one is fine, as long as they are tasteful. Remember, this is Disney. ::MickeyMo

Have fun! I can't wait until we go. The counter keeps ticking... :hourglass

I always wear a bikini. Even on Summit Plummit. I have heard the "horror stories" though haha. As long as you "go down the slides correctly" you shouldn't have to worry about your top coming off.

 I've NEVER worn a bikini. I'm too shy. Especially in my uh...Sr. years shall we say? :flower:

Even as a young girl, I was well endowed and people staring is just not what I desire. Makes me very VERY nervous. Would rather fade into my lounge chair like a chamilion (sp?)

My tankini worked really well on the water slides. Now, I didn't do the 'big' ones, but I felt comfortable in my tankini and never once felt it was going to leave the desired area uncovered. I'm really long so the normal one piece suits just don't do it for me. And I'm somewhat past my 'bikini' years. I guess I could wear one but don't think others need to see all that 'experience' hanging out!!! The tankini is more comfy than the one-piece and is easier on the eye of the beholder than a bikini!!!

This past summer I brought a long a white, tie bikini because I didn't think my sister or I would want to go to the water parks and I brought that one along so I could tan while on Daytona beach and in Key Largo and West. I was a little nervous about going on the slides, but if you just hold on to the bathing suit you're fine. I was perfectly okay when I got up from Summit Plummet. But my throat hurt from screaming - that thing is fast!!!

I usually wear a tankini with board shorts. I guess it jut depends on what you feel most comfortable in.

Oh how I wish I could remember the thread that went around here last year about the woman who lost her bathing suit on one of the slides. I am laughing my butt off just thinking about it. It was one of the funniest things I have ever read! I'll try to find it!

I would always say a one piece. I have seen to many girls go out in the wave pool and a big wave comes up and the panties try to come down! Also, if you are going to do any body slides, one pieces are definitely a better bet!

Being a stout beer wench type of female, I always wear one-piece suits. I've seen many a slimmer lady do the bikini thing, and the majority of them seem to have no trouble keeping things, um, attached to themselves. HOWEVER, I have also witnessed an unintentional disrobing or two over the years. Two years ago at TL I was waiting for DH at the bottom of one of the big slides when this poor British lady came to a skidding stop at the bottom of the slide. Her top half had SERIOUSLY ridden up on her.
So, yeah, wear 'em, but tie 'em tight.
Good luck,
Q

After much work, this is the first year that I'll be comfortable wearing a bikini in public... so I'm going to give it a shot. I'm just hoping for the best. I hate Summit Plummet/HUmunga Kowabunga slides, so I avoid them anyway. I'll be sure to wear lime green, so if it falls off, you'll now I'm one of your own

I see someone bumped up the lost bathing suit thread at TL-- I'd go check it out. It is hilarious!!!

After 2 kids, I'll never wear a bikini again. These abs just ain't what they used to be

Go with what you are comfortable with but make sure its something that will stay in place. Personally, I only do one pieces. For the protection of others of course.

This is what I was thinking. I love tankini's!!!!!!!! All the comfort of a 2 piece (don't have to take off a wet suit to use the bathroom) and all the comfort of a 1 piece (at least covers my tummy.) Belive me, you don't want to see that after DD#2.

Besides then I can nurse the baby with out showing the world :earseek: (not everyone has that issue though!

Tankini all the way! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I prefer a two piece, just because it's so much easier when going to the bathroom. :teeth:

not that i've ever found this anywhere else, but if you can find one they're really good! a few years ago i found a swimsuit dress- its made out of the same material and matches the bikini, but its a great cover up for when you feel a bit self concious, and also it doesnt tend to ride up because it has the bikini to grip onto underneath.
