For "Princesses" -- what shoes to wear with costumes?

I never worried about matching dd's shoes to her dresses. She wore either sandals or tennis shoes and never questioned this. I say go for comfort!

FYI, I found the cutest little shoes at Target for DD5. They are like the Dorothy shiny ruby red shoes, only they are in a soft pink color. She is going to be thrilled. I still plan to have her change into these only for the character meals, and her reliable Sketchers for the actual walking around. Still struggling a little for DD8 but I'm thinking white Keds with pink ribbons will satisfy her.
I bought shoes like that for DD this year - they were at Target, so they may be the exact same shoes. Be aware that the soles are *very* slippery when you get on a non-carpeted floor. I suggest you get some of those non-slip pads to stick on the bottom before she wears them.

Thanks for the warning. Maybe we'll "rough them up" a little on the bottom too!

I have been trying to figure this out also. DD will be wearing her Cinderella gown when we go to the Cinderella dinner at GF. The plastic "glass slippers" (which she wore for Halloween) don't fit her very well. The only reason that they stayed on was because she had tights and socks on! If she wore them without tights and socks, she'd probably walk right out of them or lose one along the way. Although losing a glass slipper would be very Cinderella-like (DD would probably love that), I don't want to have to deal with that. So, white sandals it is!

My girls wore their Easter shoes-white sandals from Payless. They had nice rubber soles and were plenty comfy for wearing just for one day. They live in them in the summer anyway. There will be tons of white sandals to choose from in the spring.

When we were there last week, there were a lot of little girls wearing tennies. In fact, I thought it was pretty cute to see a little girl in a princess dress with her light up tennis shoes on.

I can't wait until my DD2, will want to wear a princess dress and her tennies too!
