feed the koi fish at DLH

What did you read? Are guests allowed to feed them? That surprises me a bit, you would think (for the health of the fish) that that would be discouraged...unless they provide the food for guests to feed them?

Still, it would be fun, wouldn't it? :)

The hotel feeds the koi twice a day I think, and guests can join in. They have koi fish pellets that you can throw in the pond. There is a little landing that you can stand on to get closer to them.

You do not have to be a guest at the hotel, just be there when they feed them - around 3pm or so.

We've done that before. :)

It's very fun!

You kneel on a platform over the water, pellets in hand, open your hand in the water and the Koi come right up to you. DH said it felt very odd as they suck the pellets out of your hand. They let anyone who is nearby at feeding time to help. We did it before an early breakfast at Goofy's.
