EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

THIS! None of our bands worked in AKL elevator to club level and the bands that were sent for the trip didn't open the door. l luckily had taken our October GF stay band (it was the pink one and I got blue for the AKL trip) and it worked both on the door and then club elevator. After about an hour the others worked fine. Go figure!

We had the same issue in October with our bands not opening the door. That time we were taken from the entrance directly to our room main building second floor. It took 3 trips ( and that is some serious walking from those 2nd floor rooms) to get them to work!

Our bands missed the Magic part. pixiedust:

Same thing happened to us. My old AP band opened the door but the new band shipped for that stay didn't work. Luckily I always carry multiple bands. ;)

Out of poly, gf, WL and cr CL stays last year our CR was the only steamlined one.

Funny story, we took ME. Dd and I for fun had a race. When ME stopped first at Poly she got off and ran for the monorail to take and meet me at CR. The bus stopped next at gf then arounf to WL and CR.

When I got off they met me with a tablet and asked a few q's. Dd finally arrived outside (I won!!!)and we walked to MK. Shortly we got a text with room number. When we returned our MB's worked on the elevator to the 12th floor and to our room:)

The CL cm saw us pass and brought out paperwork to our room shortly after.

None of my CL stays last year offered direct to room access. At AKL, BC, YC, BWI, and WL we were greeted at the main entrance and escorted up to CL. Even though I had done online check-in we were still taken to the desk to speak to a CL CM personally. They briefly went over CL amenities and asked us if we needed a parking pass or any additional information. This was an opportunity to ask if our room requests had been granted and also to get birthday buttons if needed. Then we were walked to our room if it was ready, or they texted us the room # later if it wasn't ready. For the ones that were texted to us we were able to go right back there without help. At the CR we didn't do online check-in because we booked it last minute. When we arrived we didn't see anyone at the door so we went to the front desk and they called someone to come down and get us. When we got upstairs both desks were busy so we just hung out in the lounge until they were ready for us. It was a long wait. I would LOVE direct to room access on club level. I really don't need to talk to anyone.

I have such mixed feelings about direct to room. I enjoy meeting the concierge CM on check in especially in a resort where I've not stayed.

As for online check in verses not, I have not done it twice and done it twice. The 2 times I did online check in I got my room requests. The 2 times I did NOT do online check in I did NOT get my room requests. AKL is the latest example. No online check and only request was a king bed. Didn't get it ;)

If we can fit an anniversary trip in late July or early August this year, I'm definitely going the online way! I'm feeling a subtle nudge from Disney to do the online stuff!

I've been popping some pics on the GF thread so I might as well share some here too!

Sunrise from the Monorail

Second Floor GF Main Building "Honeymoon Suites" view at dawn

V & A apothecary coffee brewing system

Grand Floridian Chocolate Box on a turkey platter! Everything is edible on the tray and it is HUGE (think BIG turkey)

Hope everyone has a magical day!

Liz,

Love those pics!!!

That's it! After yet another disappointing experience with AKL IPO (I'm honestly not asking for anything unusual/outrageous)...I called and changed our 2 bedroom CL suite to 2 Arusha view rooms with queen and bunks. Savings over $4000. Scheduled another day of VIP touring and spent the rest of the afternoon planning special events/treats for our 4 kids (12, 13, 15, 17). I'm making my own club level. Lol!!

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question.....I am doing some pre-planning for a trip in 2017 and we would like to be in the Contemporary at Club Level with the Magic Kingdom view and a King bed. How much of that scenario can be guaranteed in advance and how much is just a request? This will be our first stay at an on-site resort and we are looking to make the absolute most of it. My DW is a huge Magic Kingdom fan.

Since a Theme Park View Club Level room is a bookable category, your only request would be a room with a king bed.

We had the amazing luck to be upgraded to club level this past march at the CR. It was amazing!!! Something I never would have considered before but now am torn between poly club level and CR again. I read that poly garden view club level all face the east pool now. We are planning next march so will that affect us at all?? Is the view of wishes at poly worth switching to from CR? Thanks.

I like to "make my own club level" these days, too.

I've stayed once at LV CL at Poly (before they added TPV category). We had stunning views. But CR TPV has just as much of the WOW factor. From Poly, the fireworks are more picture perfect. From CR, they are more intense b/c you're closer. Sort of like the views. Poly is dead-on, centered view of the castle but more distant and CR is that whole looking-over-the-MK feel :wizard:

Not a bad decision to have to make :cool2:

I know!! Which makes it so tough!! If it was before construction I would have done poly as we have stayed there before and liked it. Am just worried about construction and being disappointed after staying cr cl (and we were upgraded too which is how they get you!! They suck you in for future trips!!)

They gave it to us for our 30th Anniversary! I did find out it was made onsite at the GF. It was a bit larger than a large box of chocolates and filled inside with chocolate candies similar to the Victoria and Albert's candies!

SOOO GOOOD! :cloud9:

It supposedly is on the in room dining sheet somewhere but I never found it. The box was THICK, around a half inch of dark chocolate except the lid which was white chocolate. They were kind of enough to wrap it for the journey home. Sadly we had to take a mallet (it was THAT thick we couldn't just break it) to it in order to freeze it after we got home but we're still eating it! I've started dropping a chunk into my morning smoothie for a taste of the GF each day!

I haven't really followed the Poly construction time line closely, when is the quiet pool supposed to be done?

How close to your stay does the online check-in window open? Do you get notified that online check-in is available or do you have to go looking for it? Assuming it's done through MDE? TIA!
