ECV Rentals for split WDW/Universal Trips

My husband has some health issues that require us to rent an ECV on our trips. We've never done this during a split trip, though, and in May we are visiting both WDW and Universal. How does this work with needing to transport the ECV from Disney property to Universal? We plan to Uber and I would assume the Uber won't have room to transport an ECV. Do you just do 2 separate reservations?

We also considered just renting for Universal and doing a 1 day in park ECV rental with Disney since we only have 1 park day there, but it would be nice for him to have the ECV for all over property.

You can use accessible transportation, or depending on the scooter model you may be able to break it down and transport it. Some rental companies will also offer to transfer it.

Mears accessible taxi. FWIW getting an accessible taxi at WDW is easier then getting one at Universal.

Is this something that can be requested on the spot or do you need to schedule it in advance?

We rented a scooter from Scooter K##g (not sure if I can give the name). They had portable scooters that were easy to break apart and fit in the trunk of our rental SUV. The battery was a bit heavy, but I had no problems with it.
