FYI - Tucked away in the fine print of the Disneyland website when 2024 packages were released is the following language about early entry:

"Starting January 20, 2024, the early entry benefit will be updated, and Guests with valid park admission and reservations who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels may take advantage of this 30-minute early entry into a designated theme park for every day of their hotel stay. Each day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will be open early. Please check the theme park calendar for the schedule."

This is taken verbatim from the Disneyland website where they describe early entry. I've bolded the key parts. Essentially, early entry will remain only 30 minutes and now be confined to only 1 of the 2 parks daily - NOT both. It is unclear which parks will be open early on what days yet, but I'm sure a pattern will come into focus as 2024 draws closer. I'm doubtful Disneyland will make a major public announcement about this modification, so be forewarned.

Thank you for this!!!!

I am very upset by this. I know this was similar to one park before COVID but it was at least 1 hour. My concern is how it was before where the park with the early entry will be much busier than before making a 30 minute head start pointless. I still am going to use this time as every minute is going to count in our upcoming trip over a holiday weekend

I was thinking the same thing.

If it is only 1 park, make it an hour then.

Yeah, it is actually better for offsite guests for it to be only one park like it used to be. Those of us staying offsite could rope-drop the park without early entry. That said, it would be nice if it were an hour for the eligible guests.

I used to REALLY like that ticket where with three days you got one Magic Morning, even offsite - now that was awesome!

The magic morning ticket will not come back. As for the DL Resort Early entry, I would have to see the park schedule...something tells me it will stay the same but Disney loves to change. As for rope dropping the non early park, the problem with that is DL resort hotel guests that dont do early entry for the designated park might be there as well!
For me, I would do early to DCA once and on the DCA early entry for other days, i'll be on line for DIsneyland!

Yeah, but the on-site guests didn't get the head-start that they did with MM at the park without early entry. It was more manageable.

This benefits me as an offsite guest, but I still hate to see the scale back.

Resorts guests always had the choice of either going to early entry or not. Magic Morning with 3 day hoppers for offsite guets was only offered at Disneyland and on the select days. As an offsite guest, you get no benefit at all, you will be there at park opening no early entry. Yes that park will not be filled with guests already but they will be more people there with you at the gate.

Yeah, but more people at the gate is significantly than them getting in ahead of time and going to rides, etc. Like, I could get to Peter Pan as soon as the park oepns to regular guests to find a long wait already. It is definitely beneficial to have one park without the benefit. All I have to do is get there EARLY (and I do).

You are right that that three day ticket only offered DL and not CA, but it was still nice to have.

Arent they suppose to be adding value to staying on site? This takes away value... I was really excited to be able to choose between the two. Now one park will be more crowded than the other and I am paying more to be in the more crowded park. Grrr....
Exactly. This is not going to go over well at all.

That is all true but the change has not happened yet. I suspect that eventually both parks will still be offered. All depends on how hotel guests react and how bookings for the hotels go. Yes you could get to Peter Pan with no one in line. Yes I get there early too but trust me they will be more people at the gate now at the non early entry park. It is a slight advantage but it is just going back to how it was prepandemic and if the change takes effect, the early entry designated park will be more crowded now than before since hotel guests cannot choose.

Well, they can choose, as you have said. It is true though that the park with early entry would become more crowded. It made it easier to plan to go against that, really. At WDW you could do that too - plan to avoid the extra hours, or take advantage of them and park hop to less crowded pastures. It's a give and take, but there is no downside for offsite guests. That said, I do think that onsite guests deserve perks - especially for the rates they pay. Going back to a full hour but at only one park (alternating), would be great.

No there is no downside for off site guests but the magic morning tickets will not be returning. That is a downside for off site guests. WDW is a totally different animal and the number of resort hotel guests is much larger than DL.
Early entry at DL will only be for on-site hotel guests never for off site guests.
Literally noone is saying magic morning tickets would return. It was simply mentioned in Brian's comment.

I am well aware of that it was mentioned in Brian's comment. I was just stating that they are not coming back which is the truth. Disneyland does not sell those tickets anymore. Disneyland controls the attendance more tightly now and Magic Morning tickets takes away that control. If DL is going to limit early entry for DL resort guests they are certianly not going to offer Magic Morning tickets to non resort hotel guests.
You seem fixated on them tho. Like, you keep mentioning it in every comment how they are not coming back and its very weird. Cause no one said they are or even wished they would come back.

All mentions of that is gone. I was not fixated. Just making a point. Sorry it offended. you but I will take a break from these boards.
