DVCNews - Polynesian’s Island Tower DVC Inventory Incresed to 54 Vacation Homes

Does this mean inventory increase to book the tower with points is imminent for DVC members? Perhaps current waitlists have a good chance of getting fulfilled

Seems Disney made this declaration similar to how they have for Riviera. Plenty of points yet, but declaring more. At Island tower one unit xxC is still without any contracts showing up. Sorry, I forget the main unit number in the deeds without looking at excel data. IIRC, unit xxA had a few deeds early, then they stopped using it for some reason.

Does this mean more FWs will be released? What is the time frame on how they get in the system for guides to access, once the points have been declared?

FW are simply based on the % of inventory that has been declared.

It all depends on which rooms were part of the inventory and how it impacts that.

They can sell no more than 35% of rooms for any given use day.

For example, if there are 10 studios declared, they can’t sell more than 3 FW for that room for any given week.

Are you working with a guide already? For the prior FW release at Poly, my guide notified me a couple days in advance of when the new weeks were available for purchase. I believe this was the second batch overall.

Based on that, they appear to be holding some back, as isn’t this only the second overall declaration? He worded his email to say “we will be releasing X number of FWs at these room types in two days. Let me know if you are interested.” (Paraphrasing, obviously)

On a related note about Fixed Weeks at the Tower, I was interested to know whether there were any 2 bdrm TPV villas available to buy for FW50 - and the answer just now from my guide was "No".

I wonder if they are even selling any 2BR fixed weeks. The first declaration (breakdown of rooms) only had 1 dedicated 2BR. I believe it’s ADA. They had lockoffs. However, they have been selling 1BR fixed weeks, so that makes the 35% even smaller.

Wasn’t the speculation there would only be 8 dedicated 2BRs? If so, they would need to declare 4 before they can sell the first fixed week. Perhaps tell the guide you want to be on the waiting list for a FW 2BR like @supercarrie mentioned? Not sure they will do this.

I asked the guide about this because I was just curious if there were any options available to me if I wanted to upgrade my 1bdrm villa TPV FW50 to a 2 bdrm TPV FW50. It's probably for the best that its not available - I would have bought it. I am happy with the 1bdrm villa, and if I need the extra beds in December I will just have to find them elsewhere.

I wonder how much of Disney’s decision was based on the 2 bedroom discount. (Less than a 1BR plus studio).

FWIW, I just looked at the second declaration. All on the third floor. (Does not mean rooms booked will be third floor).

Looks like a second dedicated 2BR TPV was added. Also, there is a 2BR lockoff TPV.
There is a duo facing the lagoon. Guessing this is preferred view.

Not sure what view the end facing GFV (third floor) is classified as. There is a 2BR lockoff.

The rest of the second declaration faces the monorail. 3 duo Resort/Standard View and 7 dedicated studios Resort/Standard view.
