1. how many points total and contracts
210pts VGF split into 3 contracts 60,75,75
2. did you pay in full or finance ( or both)
Bought direct- had them split the payments into 3 payments over 90 days using my Disney Visa, which had no interest for 6 months. Paid in full at the end of the interest free period
(Previously owed resale contracts, paid in full when buying those)
3. Did you have your house paid for prior to purchasing your first DVC contract
No
4. what do you do for a living
mammo/xray technologist in hospital
5. average trip stay and how often
Yearly since 2018. Average length at Disney is 4-5 days. We tend to split with a few days at a Universal resort. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. Depends on how many points we have. We usually do Universal if we are short on points or try something new, like Legoland.
6. average trip spend ( food, tix or AP, souvenirs, transport)

varies greatly. We have budget trips, we’ve had expensive trips. Depends on what else is going on that year. Last year we had 2 very expensive trips in one year (Aulani and
DCL/disney/Universal) so our trip this summer is going to be a cheap trip. Staying at Fort Wilderness and only doing one park day along with water parks and Fort activities
We are also going for the first time Thanksgiving week this year. Expecting that to be on the higher end of our spending for vacations
7. do you fully outright own your point as of now, or still paying
Paid off
8. any regrets of buying.
Not really. We did own resale for a few years before we got VGF direct. When VGF was first on sale, I paid full price for 60 points because I wanted enough VGF points to do a girls weekend every once in awhile. Year later they had the fire sale so I bought another 150 points. If I had known the prices would have been so good later, I would have waited to buy that 60 points and that might have been more like 75. Oh well, can’t predict those things.
9. what accommodations do you usually stay in ( example: studio, 1 bedroom etc..)
We are a family of 5, but our oldest is in college so we have been 4 lately. Typically do a 1 bedroom as 4 people. We did a studio for 2 nights before our cruise last year. We will be traveling as a family of 5 for our Thanksgiving trip, so trying to do a 2 bedroom.
10. Do you mainly cook in your rooms or eat out throughout your stay.
If we have a kitchen, we tend to cook breakfast at least. We wake up early and like to have breakfast before the quick service places are even open. We tend to eat high protein so making eggs in the room is so much better than quick service eggs. We tend to throw in at least a table service breakfast, usually a character meal. Lunch/ dinner are typically out. I like to do a grocery order for breakfast stuff and snacks and maybe 1 option for lunch in the room, just in case we don’t feel like going out.
11. What is your reasons you bought at the resort(s) that you own at
I LOVE GF!! It’s my favorite. We previously owned SAP at SSR and were happy with that, as we don’t tend to book before 7 months and like to try new places each trip. Of course, as I Disney fan, I always had FOMO not being direct. I told DH if they ever had good prices on direct at monorail resorts, we would get direct. Jumped on VGF when they built VGF2. We still tend to use them as SAP since DH isn’t a fan of GF, but I am happy having direct and use VGF for girl trips when DH doesn’t come.
12. family size
5 Traveling as 4 lately, since DD20 is in college and working. She will be coming this year which is the first time in about 3 years
13. do your trips have a budget
Yes. It always varies but I usually have a certain budget in mind for each trip. Sometimes big, sometimes small. I tend to set a yearly vacation budget for all yearly travel. That tells me if we are doing a cheap -less park trip or full Disney/heavy park trip. I do work in a hospital that is extremely short staffed so it’s pretty easy to pick up OT to cover extra expenses. For instance, our trip last year was supposed to be a DCL cruise for the week. That was pretty much our budget for that trip. Well, Mickey’s Very Merry and
Jollywood nights happened the weekend before. And then Orlando Informer was the night returned. Pretty sure my coworkers know when I have a Disney trip coming up, because my initials appear on the OT sign up board much more than normal.
