School. The school district I live in was originally laid out with an elementary school within a half mile of every residence, a middle school with in 2 miles, and a high school within 3. Enrollment has dropped and schools have closed, so that is no longer the case.

The nearest grocery store is .3 miles away, and the closest school is .5 miles away. So either is a short walk, and the grocery store is on the way to the school.
