Do You Like The Smell Of A Campfire?

My son and his girlfriend are in the yard with a campfire and making s'mores. While I love s'mores, I really don't like the smell of a campfire. It stays on your colthes and stings your eyes and just isn't a clean smell at all. It is one of the many reasons I dislike camping. Give me the refreshing smell of the ocean any day!

I love the smell of a campfire in the moment. Afterwards, like you, I can't stand not being able to get rid of the smell. If I go to a bar with a lot of smoke, I have to wash my hair before I can go to bed. Can't stand the lingering smell of any kind of smoke.

I also love the fresh smell of the ocean..

Now that sounds much better! The ocean air sweeps away the icky smell, but you get to enjoy the warmth and light of the fire. Wish we could have them on New England beaches, but as far as I know, they aren't permitted. I remember being able to have them at beaches in California when I visited there as a teen.

Well, we do have to close every window in the house, and we wear old clothes and throw them in the laundry room immediatley. But yes, I love the smell.

LOVE IT! reminds me of being a kid in Chicago! really. when mom and dad would rake all the leaves into a huge pile on the street by the curb and burn it. and we would roast hot dogs and marshmallows.

Love it! Don't care if it lingers in my clothes. I sniff my sweatshirt on purpose before I wash it after camping, just for one last smell of the fire.

I am known as the resident pyro, though. I build the fires, I tend the fires, and I'm always zoning out into the embers.

But no...I don't burn things I shouldn't. I'm not THAT kind of pyro.

I love the smell of campfires, it reminds me of camping with my family when I was growing up. I really miss laying back in a lawn chair on a clear night just staring up at the stars with the fire crackling in the background. One of my favorite memories from my childhood.
