Do you already know your 2026 and 2027 travel plans?

I seriously have backburner plans for extended family travel for my points dating to 2027 or 2028 now. Who even am I?! Also, very excited, because it looks like my spring break PTO for 2026 is going to come through, so we can go to Aulani!

How far out do you plan? Here’s what I think we’ll do/have done!

2025:
WDW AKV/BCV 2 bedroom split stay in Jan
WDW PVB studio in June

2026:
WDW BCV studio in January
Aulani 2 br for spring break (which view?! Island Gardens vs Pool??)

2027:
WDW OKW 2 bedroom because we will be temporarily “point broke” from Aulani

2028:
Back to BCV 2 br!

Ohhh I love this question. I have a Feb UY and so far only have plans for 2025. Last two years we have done 2 trips a year and this year will be the first with 1 trip. We've only been members since 2023 so I'm trying to figure out how we'll be using our points/what the right number of trips is for us.

2025:
WDW in Nov over Thanksgiving, currently booked at SSR but trying my luck at the 7 month mark next week. Hoping to move to a 1BD Pool/Garden view at BWV and waitlist 2BD BRV, 1BD VGF, 1BD PIT, 1 BD BLT.

Really unsure beyond that!! 2026 Memorial Day weekend for a few nights possibly ...need to look at school calendars

I have a cruise and Vero Beach stay in March 2026.

I'm having a hard time deciding a fall DVC stay. Obviously, Aulani is the most desirable, but we're also doing a cruise on Princess to Alaska in the summer and paying top dollar for add ons and excursions. So, Hawaii a few months later isn't exactly feasible.

Even though I am driving distance to Disneyland, there are times when I think going to WDW is overall less expensive when using companion pass or airline miles. So, as far as 2026 fall goes, it could be Aulani, WDW or just the Grand Californian. I'd like to see the flower and garden festival in Spring 2027, but I feel like that would push Hawaii out even further.

We go twice a year, the same time each year, and our summer trip is the longer trip and always at our primary home resort, VGF, so that is planned with slightly flexible dates due to when the school year ends. Then our Thanksgiving trips is rotated between our now 2 other home resorts, CCV & PIT, so those are planned out for the duration as well. I would love more points but DH wants to retire in 2026 so he is pushing back. If we got more points then there will be some adjusting, but our big summer trip is locked in as DS is now in education and DD is a junior in college planning for grad school for education as well so summer it is.

I'm done with 2025, and have half of 2026 planned. I have a sketch for the rest of 2026, but those plans are not fully firm just yet. For 2027, my timeshare portfolio is likely to change but some of that is beyond my control, so I'm not sure how that will shake out. I know I'll spend my spring break week at WDW, but where and what isn't completely clear.

Before DVC I never planned way ahead. As of right now all of 2025 is all planned (4 more trips maybe 5) 2026 Feb trip and April cruise planned so far for 2026

I plan way ahead! I’ve got the following planned/ booked so far:

2025:
2 week split stay in August with a group of 11 people - BCV 2br and studio, SSR GV, VGF grand villa (can’t wait!!)

2026:
January marathon - 6 nights BLT 1br
April - 3 nights RIV studio followed by 7 night cruise
August - 3 nights VGC (transferred points in as I don’t own a contract there) / 10 nights AUL 1br ocean view (banking and borrowing)

2027:
Big summer vacation with family - planning on 7 nights in the PVB penthouse followed by 7 nights in the CCV cabins. Will take a little banking and borrowing also but will probably be able to use mostly SAP for the cabins.

2026 will be first disney cruise in june. Ccv in nov/dec. DHhir in summer. Not sure yet about the others to wdw.
2027 will be july 4 at dhhir and ccv in nov/Dec.
(we own at hhi and ccv, so we plan them at 11 months for prime season)

Bought into resorts where we wanted to stay, added on there too lol. Operate under “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” when it comes to DVC stays.

Same basic DVC visits each year - 4th of july week, Sept/Oct, Dec & a wildcard in late winter/early spring booked @ 5 months out that tends to default to OKW (non owners). Every now & again we see Poly, GF or BLT pop up. Have done Aulani on points along with GCV (& DLH) when do DL. Have decided we are happy enough with one of the decent hotels across Harbor, especially as walking distance is great.

if cruising out of Port Canaveral or Tampa, will add on a couple of nights with DVC. Lately, no room at the inn those trips, so we book CRO or a rental @ WBC

I usually plan 2 years in advance for our vacations. Our big vacations are not Disney, but I have a general idea of our two 1-week trips to WDW for those years. We also have 2-3 shorter trips which I usually don't know when until we are 6-7 months out.

Given my new adventure, I know when I will do DVC every year as that doesn’t change.

But, for the other trips, like cruises, those are only decided through 2026!

I dont even have my July trip fully planned at this point as we have 3 days at the start to get a hotel somewhere. Meanwhile after that I have zero clue what we will be doing.

Personally since 2020 I have found its well worth the time to just wait if at all possible. So I book 11 months out for a DVC trip that I plan for sure but other than that its up in the air including cancelling the DVC trip for something else until I can no longer bank the points.

Maybe we hit up DVC for July in 2026 but I am still missing in 2025 1 full family trip and 1 adults trip in addition to 1 full family trip before we get to July 2026 likely.

How I plan vacations really hasn’t changed. Years back it was a year in advance and that remains the same. Doesn’t mean I’m not up for a spur of the moment trip (how I frequently visit nearby locales like D.C. or Philly) but for longer trips I like to do my research (translation: read a lot of books) before getting out the door.

We’re planned through 5/26. Still have fall/winter of 2026 to finalize but I know when we’ll go, just not what resort for each trip yet.

DVC travel is known and doesn’t change year to year (except alternating stays for Wine & Dine race weekend between BCV and VGF every other year). So 3 trips to WDW (marathon weekend, springtime surprise weekend or princess, and wine & dine), 6 at DLR (2 race weekends, plus May, Aug, OBB and Dec), 3 to AUL (Feb, Sept and Nov).
The unknown near-term trips coming up are DCL and Tokyo & HK Disney. And a trip to NZ sometime next year.
