Careful there, I also remember the tram that ran from a formal IG Tram Stop, dropping us of at the BW, and age has nothing to do with it. My daughter called it the Green monster, and the kids always had a tough time deciding between the Friendship boats and the tram. That was a long time ago, but I can still see it, even though they took out the drop-off circle for the new station.....
The Green Monster? I like that! I actually recall it riding past the BW construction site for a long time, since that build seemed to have many delays before completion. Ah, if only I had my cell phone back then for pictures and videos! That would be fun.Careful there, I also remember the tram that ran from a formal IG Tram Stop, dropping us of at the BW, and age has nothing to do with it. I remembering riding that tram!!Showing my age, but I always recall for a moment, that area (by the current Skyliner station) originally being a tram stop at the IG for guests at the Crescent Lake resorts. Took guests back and forth to the resorts. That was a long time ago, but I can still see it, even though they took out the drop-off circle for the new station.....

Stormalong Bay Pool Refurbishment
Also taking place is a lengthy refurbishment of the Stormalong Bay pool and pool deck. The work began back in January with crews draining the pool and removing the sand at the bottom of the pool.
As we understand, there has been some unexpected findings during the refurbishment, which could slightly delay the project – or be the reason that we’re seeing such a flurry of activity in recent days and weeks. From what we’re told by Cast Members in the area, more work is required than previously anticipated as it relates to the extensive pump system for the pool.
That work is largely taking place out of view, but we were able to see quite a bit of work taking place for the installation of a PebbleTec material. Cast Members in the area have been lovely to talk to, and insightful as it relates to the extensive work taking place. After those conversations, we expect that the pool will be refilled with water in the coming weeks after the PebbleTec and sand have returned to the pool. Apparently, it is required that the pool is refilled shortly after the PebbleTec is installed to help with the curing process. Here’s a look around the area, with sand bags scattered throughout as crews await the work to begin refilling the pool area with sand and water.

Hope you have a great trip!Getting it all nice and pretty for my May 2026 Trip![]()
Yes the metal barrier poles descend into the ground on the walkway just before that area. I saw the construction trucks leaving the YC/BC area going past the BC up the hill then down the hill and taking the left into that area you posted. Is this what you are talking about - this is from Google Earth while they were building the skyliner
Those pictures are awesome! ThanksPicture Update:
Extensive Exterior Refurbishment Joins Ongoing Stormalong Bay Refresh at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort
Since our last visit, a flurry of roof work has begun as crews replace large sections of the roof shingles at the resort. Right now, the work is somewhat limited, with crews focused on an area near the pool area, which has been under construction for months now. We’re told that the projects are unrelated to one another, but it is convenient that the roof work can take place without worrying about guests being in the area now that the pool is closed.
While the roof is the most obvious point of focus, crews are also working on replacing the siding for the buildings as part of an extensive exterior refurbishment.
The projects are related in at least one way: legacy work. Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort is coming up on its 35th Anniversary this November, and the work is being done now to ensure that the resort can operate for at least another 35 years. As we’ll see with the pool refurbishment, extensive work is taking place to refresh the entire area to make sure that it’s better than ever when it reopens this Summer.
First, here’s a look at the exterior refurbishment taking place at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort. We’ll start on the BoardWalk Resort side of Crescent Lake before making our way closer to the Yacht & Beach Club Resort.

That’s not true. I had a CL WV room last month with scaffolding outside my balcony. It did not bother us since we were not in the room from 9-3 pm but it’s there. There’s scaffolding in a lot of the rooms facing the SAB and the Bay Area. You don’t have scaffolding around the area from the marina towards the swan and dolphin around the side and back around the Admiral pool and on the garden side. Most scaffolding is around the SAB area toward the BC around Yachtman steakhouse area.Is it safe to assume that the rooms with scaffolding in front of them are not being assigned at this time? Checking in next week to a water view room at Yacht Club and really don't want to look at scaffolding.
No it's not.Is it safe to assume that the rooms with scaffolding in front of them are not being assigned at this time?
I can't thank you enough for these photos. We are a couple that have raised their kids at Disney, but no longer go to the parks. We are DVC members that spend most of our vacations now, at this very pool. Can I ask you a huge favor next time you go, could you please ask them, are they still keeping the all adult only hot tub (I hope!) when it reopens? And, are they replacing the lounge chairs with new ones that will be higher and easier to get out of? thank you!Picture Update:
