Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Yes, the pool area is a huge mess - no getting around that for the next few months.

Trying to change to Beach Club? From where? Parts of BC are going to be in the middle of the mess. We did BCV earlier this month, and at least that's outside of the SAB refurb mess. We avoided even seeing it most of our stay, since BCV is on the other side of BC from SAB.

And I keep thinking that my 42yo daughter's first look at WDW (since the resort is the first thing you experience) is going to be so disappointing this April. I'm trying to change to Beach Club or Boardwalk Inn without success. I'm checking multiple times a day.

First look at Disney? Animal Kingdom Lodge is a nice replacment if you dont mind the buses. Usually has rooms available and is a wow factor

You might be making a mountain of a mole hill… She knows going in the large pool is a construction zone (I can’t imagine you didn’t tell her). The first thing she will see is the Lobby, not the room. With SAB closed that’s the only visual wow factor at YC & BC and neither Lobby is under refurb. (The rooms while kinda cutely themed are not anything that is gonna leave a person thinking “wow”. They’re actually kinda sad for the price paid but we forgive all on that account due to Location, Location, Location.)

I can't tell from the pictures I've seen but has anyone noticed if the took down the cabanas? I'm really hoping they keep them or even add some more.

Construction on Stormalong Bay Pool Continues at Disney’s Yacht Club

The construction to refurbish Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort continues with more jackhammer work, covered windows, and concrete painting.

Stormalong Bay has been closed for refurbishment since early January 2025. In one of our previous updates, we saw several construction crew members walking the deck of the pirate ship.

A wooden pirate ship with masts is docked by a lush, tree-lined shore under a clear blue sky, reminiscent of the enchanting ambiance at Disney’s Yacht Club.

One crew member was still working on something to the left side of the deck, but it is still difficult to see what kind of work is being completed.

A large, light-gray building reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club stands under a clear blue sky. White barriers, hinting at ongoing construction, line a wooden walkway in the foreground, with lush greenery and a tree completing the serene scene.

Closer to the main building of the hotel, areas to the right of the main walkway are being used to stage additional construction materials. This pile appeared to contain several metal rods or pipes.

A two-story house with columns and a porch, reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club, is surrounded by trees. Construction workers and equipment are busy in front, with a white barricade adding to the scene's dynamic energy.

While the construction is mainly on the pool area, crew members have also begun working on the facade of the building too. Over on the right, we could see where several small vehicles were parked next to a pallet of power tools.

Workers in safety gear renovate a building's exterior with white siding at the edge of Stormalong Bay Pool. Ladders and scaffolding are in use, and a barrier ensures safety for those visiting Disney’s Yacht Club during construction.
More paneling pieces located around the windows have been removed since our last update. Construction crew members were using drills to pull out some of the wall components. As previously, the walkway is closed-off from guests using white barricades.

The building exterior at Disney's Yacht Club features white frames and exposed insulation cloaked by black wrap material near a column and window, reflecting ongoing construction efforts.

Several of the sections around the nearby windows have had the white paneling taken away, showing the black waterproofing material underneath.

Construction workers in yellow vests and helmets were busy outside a building, surrounded by ladders and fencing. The scene unfolded under a clear sky near Disney’s Yacht Club, their work contributing to the magic of nearby attractions like Stormalong Bay Pool.

On the left side of the far windows, one crew member is holding up what may be some identical-looking new panels. This section was entirely exposed during our last update, but it is now mostly covered halfway up the wall.

A beige building with three windows, each adorned with a red and white striped awning reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club charm. Tree branches gracefully overlap the view, adding a touch of nature to this picturesque scene.

In another change since our last update, the windows on the second floor near this area have been covered with plastic and tape. While the work so far has not reached higher than the first floor, this may imply the exterior refurbishment will expand higher in sections.

A person in a red safety vest and hard hat walks outside a window, possibly part of the construction work at Disney’s Yacht Club. Indoors, there's wooden flooring, decorative lighting, and a ladder near a door.
From the interior hallway, guests’ views of the construction are somewhat blocked by more plastic sheets held on the windows using blue tape.

A sign on an easel at Disney's Yacht Club Resort directs guests to use an alternative exit due to ongoing construction. The backdrop features tile and a glimpse of the outdoor scenery, hinting at the nearby Stormalong Bay Pool.
Guests are not allowed to use either of the double doors on this side of the hotel, and signs have been placed in front of them. The signs are white and point guests toward the exit around the corner.

At the construction site, workers are carefully installing striped paving stones. Equipment and materials lie scattered, while trees and buildings rise in the background under a clear blue sky, reminiscent of the serenity found around Disney's Yacht Club.

Moving outside to Stormalong Bay itself, many crew members are still audibly using jackhammers on the concrete.

Amidst the construction site, workers diligently labor surrounded by palm trees and buildings, reminiscent of the bustling atmosphere near Disney's Yacht Club. Equipment and materials are scattered around under a clear blue sky, evoking a scene similar to the vibrant Stormalong Bay Pool.
The concrete in this entire section has been removed, including both the base of the pool and the nearby path. Disney usually has all of the jackhammer work completed during the day, as to not disturb sleeping guests after dark.

Construction workers in bright clothing are busy renovating the drained Stormalong Bay Pool near Disney’s Yacht Club, surrounded by a white wooden structure and multi-story buildings.

In this middle section, crews were painting some kind of product on the exposed concrete. This could either be a type of sealing liquid or a primary layer to add texture before this section is repainted with its usual colors.

At Disney's Yacht Club, the construction site buzzes with activity near the Stormalong Bay Pool. Workers are busy near a bridge as buildings with gabled roofs stand gracefully in the background under a clear blue sky.
The bridge crossing over what is usually another pool section has been blocked using yellow caution tape. More of the concrete by the bride has been removed, exposing the grid of wires running underneath.

The construction site at Disney's Yacht Club features an empty Stormalong Bay Pool, a ladder, and a windmill structure under a clear blue sky. Rocks and unfinished surfaces are visible in the fenced-off area.
Less crew members were actively working on the right half of the pool, where all of the concrete has already been torn up.

A building under construction stands beside the Stormalong Bay Pool, with a foreground of dirt and construction materials. Steps and a white pergola lead to the entrance of Disney's Yacht Club, seamlessly blending luxury with progress.

Additional construction materials have been piled along the pool’s edge and underneath several of the covered walkways.

View of a construction site near Disney’s Yacht Club, featuring a partially built structure surrounded by lights and trees. A clear blue sky is in the background, and the ground appears mostly dirt with patches of grass—much like the serene surroundings of Stormalong Bay Pool.

Thank you for posting these photos! We're arriving on Tuesday because I snagged a great deal on a club level room. This is my husband's first return to the World in 9 years, and this helped me set his expectations. I've been coming with my friends or my kids the past few years, and I'm so happy he's joining us this time!!
How is the noise level at with Water view rooms?

I’m arriving Monday. I have heard it’s not that bad from others. Only during the day nothing at night.

Hope you both have a great time. Looking forward to hearing how your trips are. I’m slightly concerned about the roof work someone posted about. I moved us to CL from Riviera in May. We do spend a lot of downtime at the resort. We rarely swim so SAB rehab isn’t an issue. Wondering if we’ll hear hammering on the roof tho.

I don't want to unduly concern you but I would be more worried about work on the lower flat roofs. That might involve removing roofing membranes, asphalt work or sealing.

I will let you know when I arrive on Monday the 24th! Not expecting any issues. Gone from the room after breakfast, back mid to late afternoon, back out at night. Will update everyone in the CL offering and new rehab also. Don’t mind the smaller pool for a quick rest. Leaving Friday midafternoon on the 28th.
