Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

Why does WL have a direct FW bus all times of day? It seems like the most deserted bus route in all of Disney, it runs all day but I’ve only seen a few people get on/off during the evening so I think I have to be missing something.

I forget how it works exactly but I believe the FW bus changes to/from one of the internal FW routes on the FW side, so it’s somehow all connected/makes sense with how those routes run by the bus gods. Not that that answers your question, but I’ve always assumed something about that setup makes sense that isn’t overly obvious on the surface.

Is Teton Boat & Bike rental still viable? I couldn’t find an official map online. Saw some third party websites, all with what look like legit maps, but couldn’t discern how old the map itself is.

I get that Trout Pass pool bar is no longer. Looks like it became the salon, which itself is no longer? Is that anything now or just a closed spa?

On a third party website that purports to have a 2025 map, Teton Boat & Bike is still there. But, on the WDW website, while it lists multiple marinas to rent boats, Wilderness Lodge is not one of the hotels listed. The WDW website does list chartered fishing from Wilderness Lodge, but that’s not what I’m after. Would like to rent a pontoon.

Thank you!

It wasn’t open when I was there in late January

No there are no bike or boat rentals available at WL since 2021. The bike rental at WL is closed since the trail between WL and Ft. Wilderness is closed due to the new resort construction, the Lake Shore Lodge aka the old "Reflections - A Disney Lake Side Lodge", it opens in 2027. Then the bike rentals may return but nothing is announced as of now.

You can rent boats at the Contemporary marina or at the Ft. Wilderness "Bike Barn" near the marina dock. The Bike Barn also offers bikes, canoes, kayaks, and motorized Pontoon boats

2 families (1 DVC Boulder Ridge and 1 actual Wilderness Lodge room) wanting to do one grocery delivery. Will Bell services allow us to take a luggage cart and deliver our own groceries to our own individual rooms? Or will they only deliver to one room and we will need to split the order at the DVC room and carry back to the WL room. DVC room will have more groceries and WL room will just have a few so placing 2 grocery delivery orders seems such a waste.

My DH used a luggage cart and grabbed ours in late January, staying in BRV. We were just asked to bring the cart back

I would guess that the exterior work on the CCV would be the same kind of work they did on the WL building. There was scaffolding put up a section at a time. And the work included painting the balcony rails. There was some roof work, too.
Would scaffolding cover an occupied room, or are they vacant while work is being completed?

The scaffolding is in front of a large section of the resort. They work on one section at a time before moving the scaffolding to another area. The scaffolding is placed in a way that doesn't block the view. I've been in rooms that have scaffolding in front of them. And I've had workers on the balcony of the room I was in. I don't know if the resort will put guests in these rooms, but my guess is that the rooms will be occupied during the refurbishment.

When would you be at the CCV section of the building?

Just a reminder that the CCV DVC guest rooms will be starting a room refurbishment in May, that is expected to run until September.

Dave
We are booked in the regular hotel rooms actually. I was asking because this is a split stay with YC. I need to read more posts in that thread to see if I can dig up any more information about that refurb. When scaffoding came up in this thread, I thought I'd ask the experts over here. It seems refurbs are going on at many hotels.

WL July 5 - 9
YC July 9 - 12

ETA: Thanks for your help.

Yes this is a busy year with many resorts having enhancements or basic scheduled maintenance. This is the dry season that often runs through May before the almost daily afternoon thunderstorms return this summer.

The WL side of the resort should be complete soon as the work on the CCV (South Side) of the main resort building and the Cabins at Bay Lake work is scheduled to start in Mid May and last until September.

The YC should also be done with is major SAB pool refurbishment, the exterior work on the building siding, and roof work should be long done before your July visit.

Well, thank you so much for the information! You made my day! Working before thunderstorm season makes total sense.

Can you still order the mushroom soup?

Does anyone have previous dates of when the Christmas tree is up. Looking to see if I can line it up with a pre cruise stay.
