Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Ditto
Sooooo glad we do not RD anymore, leisurely role in around 9:30 - 10:00, stay until after close and we still get in everything we wanted. Our trips have been much more relaxing:)
With waiting in the skyliner lines for so long and not getting to the park early enough, I would take POP off your resort lists because of all the hassles;);)
Yes, we've seriously been reconsidering how we tour especially as the kids are getting older. I think we're just going to bite the bullet and split our park days in half (a few rope dropping and a few rolling in when we feel like it.) The rope dropping this past trip just didn't really seem worth it and the super early mornings really aren't pleasant. It's hard for me (I think only me in oyr group lol) to fight the urge of getting our monies worth, but if we can enjoy our time better doing it a different way then really that's the value.

We toured very differently last year when my teen was battling a cold (a couple of days not going to a park at all 😮) but it wasn’t bad. Different yes but not bad. We also had 8 park days which made a big difference too. We took the entire trip at a slower pace and honestly still really enjoyed ourselves! It was difficult fighting the urge to RD as I like to squeeze in as much as I can but in the end, we still had an amazing time and the extra sleep allowed my dd to enjoy herself too.

So, 7am......If I'm in line at 6:45am at the Pop Skyliner, I'm guessing I would be near the front. Thank you!
If the park opens at 8:30 then yes, at 6:45 you will likely be towards the front of the line but there's no guarantee and, it will change day to day. Not sure if you've ridden the Skyliner yet but the lines move quite quickly. Even when we're lined up way back into the 50's the wait has been reasonable compared to bus lines. Also, with the line constantly moving it feels better as you're not standing still waiting for transportation to arrive.

I've never understood getting up early to stand in a line for 1.5 hrs for RD vs. sleeping in and standing in a ride line. Either way you are standing in a line. I'll take my extra sleep.
I don’t wait in line to rope drop but the idea is that you are waiting during non-park hours and are not wasting the park time.

We all travel differently but for me I don’t like to sleep much when I’m on vacation. If I wake up and it’s already light out it means I missed something.

This.

RD maximizes actual Park time as does getting in line for a headliner just before Park Close.

We have found this strategy to be ideal for us.

The excitement of RD on a few days and the excitement of sleeping in on the others!

As our DDs got older it was harder and harder to get them up. LOL Once we stopped rushing and planning everything down to the minutes, it actually felt like a vacation and when it was over DW and I no longer felt like we needed a couple of more days to recover. LOL We may do 1 RD day, but honestly we have many trips with none. It also helps that our family enjoys the parks at night a lot more than the day.

Yes, multiple times, but it seems like they are pushing the start time of the Skyliner to 7:30am now instead of 7am. Now wondering if the bus may be quicker to the parks from Pop........

For us, the weather plays a factor. We like to be back at the hotel early afternoon and get out of the sun, then head out after.

Is it still possible to catch an early bus to Epcot from Art of Animation? Having to use the international entrance for RD is not ideal...

Thanks for the responses!

I was told otherwise by a cast member earlier this week. Perhaps she was mistaken. If you are rope dropping from the international entrance, does staff still hold you at Canada until park opening?
