Aloha and Welcome to the New Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Information Thread!

Contents & Quick Links:

The Polynesian Village Resort, or "Poly" for short, is a favorite of many Disney guests. The iconic setting along the Seven Seas Lagoon, the music drifting through the grounds, the lit torches at night, the lush landscaping, the Magic Kingdom and fireworks views across the water - it really is a special place.

The goal of this thread is to be a resource for guests and fans of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. As has happened at various points in its near 50 year history, the resort is about to embark on its next evolution upon reopening after the COVID shutdown and subsequent major hotel-side renovation. As they become available the thread photos will continue to be updated to reflect the ongoing changes to the Polynesian as they are completed.

If you have any questions that are not answered in the information section, please feel free to ask and hopefully one of our Poly faithful will be able to help!

Thanks and acknowledgements are in order for the contributions and hard work of former keepers of the Poly thread, @SeaSpray, @BreezysMom, @guitarob, @maiapapaya, along with others that carried the tiki torch before them. Much of the content credit goes to them.

So grab a Lapu Lapu, Dole Whip, Bread Pudding, or plate of 'Ohana noodles and join the fun!

Pictures of room views, recreation calendars/signs, and general happenings around the resort are always appreciated.

Mahalo!

One of the best parts about staying at the Poly is the abundant transportation options:

Monorail
  • The Monorail station located just in front of the Grand Ceremonial House offers convenient access to the Resort Monorail, with clockwise service to the Grand Floridian - Magic Kingdom - Contemporary Report - Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) - Polynesian loop.
  • Guests can also access the Resort Monorail, the Express Monorail (which goes directly to the Magic Kingdom), and the Epcot Monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC), which is a +/- 10 minute walk from the Polynesian.
Resort Boat Launch
  • From the dock to the east of the marina, guests can take a water launch, traveling in a circular route between the Polynesian Resort, Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian Resort.
  • Resort launch service is 'usually' the smaller-style mostly open watercraft that is not ECV accessible and strollers need to be folded. Occasionally Poly will be serviced by the larger style boats that are ECV-accessible, but that is less common.
  • Service typically starts approximately 1 hour prior to Magic Kingdom opening
Bus
  • Bus service is provided to:
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom
    • Disney Springs
    • Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park (requires taking the bus to Disney's Animal Kingdom and transferring to a bus to Blizzard Beach)
    • Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park (requires taking the bus to Disney Springs and transferring to a bus to Typhoon Lagoon)
  • Polynesian bus service typically, although not always, shares with the Grand Floridian next door
    • After picking up at the Polynesian bus stop, the bus will then stop at the Grand Floridian before continuing on to your destination
    • On the return trip, the bus will stop at the Polynesian first, then Grand Floridian
    • Exceptions are generally during busy/peak times

For those who would like a little more personal service, the King Kamehameha Club is Polynesian's Club Level offering.

Club Level rooms are are located in the Hawaii longhouse and the Tonga Suites longhouse. Non-suite Club Level rooms are the same size and style of regular Polynesian hotel rooms.

The Club Level lounge (the King Kamehameha Club lounge) is located in the Hawaii longhouse, which features expansive two-story views overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon and across the water towards the Magic Kingdom and fantastic fireworks viewing with audio. Lounge service hours are 7am - 10pm, although the lounge space itself is generally accessible 24 hours a day.

Club Level lounge offerings tend to change over time, but generally speaking the lounge offers a variety of food/beverage services during the day and complimentary beer/wine.

There are "concierge" CMs located on the first floor of the Hawaii longhouse that offer personal check-in services and planning assistance during your stay.

Club Level offerings, services, and amenities are always evolving - for the latest Club Level details please visit the Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions thread.

The Tonga Suites are located beside the Great Ceremonial House at the end of the marina. The longhouse contains six suites of various sizes and configurations.

Suites are considered "Club Level" and the Tonga longhouse has what is effectively a "mini-lounge" on the second floor with select beverages and light snacks available.

Tonga guests also have access to the King Kamehameha Club lounge in the Hawaii longhouse (although non-suite Club Level guests do not have access to the Tonga Longhouse).

Tonga guests historically had access to a select complimentary in-room dining menu, a distinct amenity for suite guests that is not found at other Disney resorts - however this offering has not returned since the Covid reopening.
