Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

We can all have a spirited debate about what the Tower has brought to the Polynesian - it certainly has “activated” what was once a quiet and peaceful “side” of the resort. Personally, while I have a few gripes about a few of the construction choices, overall I think it’s a positive addition.

Also visible is roof damage to Tuvalo and Aotearoa from the hurricane a few months ago. Repairs are currently underway.

Heading back to Poly again this summer and excited to start planning!

We usually stay CL resort view, but got a great BB for CL water view. Could someone remind me which floors the water view rooms are on? I'm thinking first and part of second but can't recall. I'd like to make a request for first floor if so. TIA!

Hi - we have one of the Island Tower penthouses reserved later this month and are hosting a few friends for a dinner. They will take a MEARS van to the Poly and from what I've read they will need to get dropped off at GCH and walk to the tower, is that right? What should they say at the security stop - is it ok to say they are visiting a guest and give my name?

Hi again - I'm going to post this on a separate post as well, but wanted to get this group's take: We are hosting a small (!) gathering for 15 friends after the Marathon in January. I now have a choice between a 2 bedroom penthouse (preferred view - not the TP view) in the new Island Tower, or a Bungalow. Which would you pick for comfortably fitting (if we can) 15 adults for cocktails and some food? I know most people have not seen the penthouse room yet. The videos I've found seem to show that it's a bit larger in the living area than the Bungalow, but the Bungalow is impressive in it's own right. Also, we are doing a fireworks cruise, so I don't need the fireworks view from the Bungalow. But would love all other opinions to help us decide! Thanks.

The 2 bedroom penthouse has the most open space available when including the balcony space. The Bungalows have a lot of broken up space even when including the front balcony and to balcony overlook the Seven Seas Lagoon.

It’s the first floor, most of the second floor and a couple on the third I think.

Just documenting some 12/31 things...

An unfortunate observation - the DJ for the 7-11:50pm beach party was possibly the worst DJ I have seen - zero interaction, enthusiasm, or fun. Just stood there and hit play. I walked over to GF a couple of times and the DJ at their dance party was BUMPING... major crowd interaction and a better vibe. I've had a great time at the Poly beach in year's past, so this was unfortunate. Maybe he got better closer to midnight, I'm not sure - we bailed on hanging out there.

Typical setup for the late fireworks show (11:50pm) on both 12/30 and 12/31 as they utilize launch points in the lagoon that make boat service impassable.

Checked into the tower today for the Marathon weekend. It’s absolutely beautiful. I think it fits right in with the rest of the resort. The lobby has the same scent. We are in a Deluxe Studio - Resort View on 6th floor. The view is overlooking the road construction and the monorail is just below. A lot of the features are similar to other newer DVC rooms. I like it a lot, I think overall they did a nice job on the whole building.

Layout and bathroom is very similar to Four Seasons (beautiful and functional). Great that it has plenty of storage (lacking in longhouses).

Is the pull down bed uncomfortable with a partition like a sofa bed? The trackers mentioned it in their video.

That would be very unusual since none of the other murphy beds of that style have partitions. They've all been just as comfortable as the "regular" bed. I wouldn't think they'd have changed anything about them.

The Murphy bed is very comfortable (we stayed in a deluxe studio at the tower over new years). No partition, it’s one mattress. Loved our stay there.

I don’t even watch them out of bile fascination anymore, but back when I did, I liked to play a game where I counted every time dude got a very basic, easy to check fact wrong in a video. If it was a drinking game I’d have gotten alcohol poisoning.

Don’t go by anything he says is what I’m saying. Quincy from All Ears is a much better source of info on resort rooms on YT and confirmed those murphy beds are the exact same as have gone in all the recent DVC studios and are as comfortable as the standard beds.
