Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

I just recieved an email that my resort room name might have changed. Has anyone else with upcoming Poly stays receive this email?

Here to look for the same answers, I have upcoming stays at 4 different resorts but Poly was my guess. My lakeview studio description looks the same to me?

Mind sharing the exact text of the e-mail?

Dear Guest,

We are writing to let you know about changes that have been made to resort room type names.

In order to make it simpler for Members and Guests to choose the room they want, we have made changes to room view types at select resorts. Please note that your upcoming resort room type name may have changed on My Disney Experience, on DisneyWorld.com or on DisneyVacationClub.com. However, you will still receive the exact room type you originally booked. There is no additional action required prior to your arrival.

We look forward to welcoming you on your upcoming visit and wish you a magical stay!

Sincerely,
Disney Destinations, LLC"

Have a reservation for tower in Jan and have not received any emails. Doing a resort search online in MDE, did the room name change for non-tower water, TP, resort views? Less verbiage on the name perhaps? I don't have snapshot of it last week so not sure. I thought those names were more lengthy so maybe making for some confusion with new room type names in tower?

Interesting. Nothing strikes me as different on first glance unless I'm missing something. Frankly seems like an e-mail that would have made more sense last year when they overhauled room categories.

Something to keep an eye on I guess!

I got that email too and we’re staying in the tower in February. I think I had “resort” view and now it says “standard” - that’s their old verbiage that was recently changed-are they changing back?

Tower (and the Deluxe Studio category at original PVB) has used the "Standard View" name since the room info came out. Hotel side changed to Resort View whenever they tinkered with things last year.

Yes I see that now, you're so right. I see the search now shows standard view instead of resort view on all categories.

Also there's a report of the same e-mail from someone in another thread that doesn't have a Poly reservation, so could be more widespread than just Poly. FWIW.

LOL- I've got Poly and BWV booked but only one email, and both my rooms look the same to me.

Someone also just posted the same question on Facebook but for Riviera…

Figured there was zero chance of them when they took efforts to highlight how Wailulu was a gas-less kitchen facility... but now that we see the mostly finished product, sort of a bummer they didn't extend the gas torches on the Tower side of the resort. Just pretty boring looking lights on poles.
