Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Information & Questions

At the All Stars the screens close over the food kiosks...not the entrance to the food court so you can get refills at any time. The microwaves, toasters, and seating are also accessible.
Agree with this. Only thing to add was that I noticed that at least later at night, they would close one side of the refill station for cleaning. We'd have one working coffee & hot cocoa, at times only 1 of the ice dispensers working, and a small line for it. But usually got in from after parks closed late at night. This was late last mo.

We stayed at ASMu from the 16-24th. I asked for Rock Inn, hoping to get the side closest to Jazz Inn as I didn't want to pay for preferred rooms. We not only received that (building 3 - 3rd floor facing building 2 Jazz) but they gave us connecting rooms. I only asked if possible to keep our 2 rooms close to each other. That was a nice bonus.

On our arrival and first full day there, we walked up and down the long path from the main building, around Calypso pool, straight through and around the Piano pool and right to our building. The next day my husband discovered we could walk down past our side of the building towards the parking lot and curve around Jazz building 2 to come out between Jazz building 3 and Calypso building 1. It sure felt like a shorter walk! I just checked it out on mapmyrun. The "long" way is .45 kms / .28 miles. The "short" way is .33 kms / .20 miles. A tiny difference but it seemed a lot shorter. Maybe as we were more in the shade this way.

We never heard noise from the rooms on either side of us. One night someone was out on the balcony/walkway talking on the phone and that we did hear. That same night someone fast rapped on our door around 10:30 pm and took off.

I loved how quickly the soap bars became foamy. The shower pressure was awful however. The 2nd night the shower wasn't draining fast enough (pooled up around the ankles) but ASMu fixed it the next day while we were in the parks.

Safe was big enough for everything we wanted to put in it.

Air conditioning worked great. My husband likes it cold so I had to ask for a blanket. I was surprised there was no blanket tucked away in the room somewhere.

My husband & I are divided on the food court. He felt food was too greasy and I did not. Yes, the bacon and sassauges were but I just grabbed extra napkins to soak it up (we pat the excess grease off with paper towels after cooking them at home). Otherwise, I thought the meals were good. I liked the healthier dinner choices. I had salmon, green beans and rice one night. Seseme chicken, rice, red peppers & onions another. Twice antoher chicken dish that had carrots, rice, and plantains? Oh those plantains were good! I tried a bacon & cheeseburger and it was good. Except for one breakfast, we ate breakfast there every day - usually skipped lunch - and either ate dinner when we got back to ASMu or at the parks.

Now in 2019 we stayed at Cabana Bay. Their food court and meals I did NOT like. He doesn't remember and has no opinon. LOL

On our first trip (2010), we stayed at Coronado Springs. While ASMu was nice and I had no complains, I would stay at a moderate again if only for the quieter, more peaceful, toned down vibe. There is so much stimulation in the parks that I do not want it at the resort.

great review!

I loved the food court, I stayed at ASMovies Sep 20-23 but walked over (from Dalmatians 4) to use Music’s food court- really really nice, so roomy! Great booths, loved all the windows & food was delicious

This thread needs some love, it’s dropped all the way to page 6 😀
Just finishing up our 6 night stay in a family suite, which has been great. First putting my review in context, we got very sick (not a fault of the resort) and were basically bedridden for 3 days with bad colds/flu, so we very much appreciated the amenities of the suite.
The suite is nicely done, three very comfortable beds (we should know we hardly moved for 72 hours), we did request extra blankets as there are none in the rooms, ample pillows though. The fridge is full size, and there is an abundance of storage space so we could do a complete unpack. The only negative is they can be a bit dark in the day, the windows seem small or maybe the walkways don’t allow in enough light.
We lucked out by getting a room in Calypso 1, which was a blessing when we could hardly walk to get water and food. It was on the back side of the building but that was so quiet and the outlook is so green we really didn’t mind at all.
The all-stars get complaints about noise and crowding, we had no such problems mid-December. The resorts seems mostly empty to us in comparison to other places. The pool at its most crowded has had about 15 people, mostly under 10. Mind you the pool was freezing, so most people got in and got out again! There are empty pool seats everywhere, great for when we wanted to escape the room. The food hall we have never had a problem getting a seat. And the buses, we have had so many trips when we are the only people on the bus. We haven’t shared a bus with the other all-star resorts and we haven’t ever waited more than 5 minutes for a bus at the resort or at a park.
The games room is brilliant. One thing I wanted to know was what was “Arcade Tournament” on the activity sheet. If you have teenagers who like the games in the arcade this is for them. Basically you compete with the other people who turn up. You choose the games and then they let you play those games for free. When we went (after we recovered) we were the only 3 who showed up (2 adults and a 17 yo) we had a great time, playing air hockey, skee ball, basket ball, and then some other games to see who won overall - of course the 17yo won!. We basically played for an hour for free! Shout out to Tori and Lauren, who ran the session.
Apart from the games room the resorts had both pool and table tennis tables at the pools, which we also used for entertainment.
The food hall, like I said before not crowded, but after 6 days the menu got a bit dull as nothing changes, and it is also the same menu at all all-stars so even though you can get variety in location not in food. The shop is huge and has lots of variety. It is very easy to walk between the three resorts.
I would highly recommend this resort if looking for a cheaper place to stay, we have stayed at many resorts, including AoA another value resort and I would choose this over AoA. Yes AoA has skyliner, but the bus experience here was exceptional and this family suite with pull down beds is way more comfortable than the sofa bed at AoA.

I love All Star Music. Since I now travel with a dog, I can't stay here as much anymore.

Thanks for your review. It sounds fun, well, except for the getting sick part....

So a few questions.

We will be arriving at ASMu on the 26th. Its been about 4 years since we’ve been in The World and even longer since we’ve stayed at an All-Star resort.

Do the rooms still have H2O brand shampoo/conditioner/body wash on the walls in the shower?

To clarify…we can now use the refill area 24 hours a day, including microwaves?

Do they still offer peanut butter, cream cheese, jelly, etc at the condiment station and is it available 24 hours a day?

Does Musoc share buses with the other All-Stars ever?

Is there a coffee maker in the rooms?

Has anyone requested a microwave and successfully gotten it?

I think that’s it for now…

We’re 5 days out…4 from leaving (we’re driving from the Chicagoland area)…and I’m too excited to sleep!!!

It’s not H2O, but there are large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers

Hmm not sure about 24 hours. The area was closing around 11:30pm, not sure if we could access microwave or not. But there are microwaves.

Jelly yes (strawberry and grape). PB and cream cheese no. If you buy a bagel you can get two tubs of CC.

We were there 6 days and never shared on any of the bus trips we made and we made trips at all times of the day (not just rush hour).

Is there a coffee maker in the rooms?
Yes
Has anyone requested a microwave and successfully gotten it?
There is a microwave in the suite, not sure about normal rooms. We didn’t request one (as in suite).

I am here and I can’t sleep either - will sleep once we get home!

I think Music is now my top value resort. I stayed here a few times over the years and just stayed Dec 6-9. Friends were staying preferred at Movies and I was able to get a room in the Broadway section just across the parking lot. It was a quick walk and I rode the the Movies bus with them in the morning and Music back in the evening. We only shared a bus one late night all others were seperate which was nice they were doing that again.

Spending time at both resorts in the same trip was interesting. Music seemed quieter and less crowded. I got a refillable mug and the drink machines seemed to be down more than Music but the food court wasn't as crowded. The food courts were a bit different for instance the ice cream freezer was in the food court at Music and the store at Movies. Music also had a permanent ice cream and sweets station while Movies had all the stations different food options and sweets were in the cooler.

Food was as expected and I had no problem getting kids meals in fact it was recommended by the CM for breakfast one morning. Kids meals added a small water and sliced apples I had in the room for later.

Only minus was the walk is always longer to the room since this resort is long and family suites are closer to the lobby. I also really disliked the new shampoo and conditioner and since this was a very last minute trip I didn't bring my own.

I liked the Adirondack chairs throughout the resort and the fire pits. I was able to sit and soak up the resort while I was waiting for my room request.

I know a small water or milk is included with kid meals. Can a small orange juice be substituted?

We've not booked a preferred room, so we'll be in Rock Inn, Broadway or Country Fair. Is it worth making any sort of room requests?

Hi!

I'm just wondering about the TVs. The last time I was at Disney, there was no Disney+. I'm assuming that that's still the case, but am I wrong? Do the TVs play local channels, special Disney stuff, or both?

I'm spending most of my time in the parks, but just thinking about how to spend my resort/Disney Springs day.

Thank you! :)

The TV might have the Disney+ app so you can sign in with your own account. They just started rolling it out, according to this article from December: https://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts/wa...out-to-walt-disney-world-resort-hotel-tvs.htm

Otherwise the TV has local channels and cable channels. There are several Disney-specific channels with resort information and promotions.
