Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2026

While the official runDisney site still doesn't have any details for half marathon weekend 2026, I stumbled across an announcement on parkinson.org about fundraising for the 2026 race. Hard to say. Those dates would make sense based on this year. I’ve operated under the assumption that RD was working with Anaheim to agree on a race weekend but this is getting a bit annoying.

I think it’s back to what is was before when DL went on hiatus: Disney wants to do construction for that expansion plan from D23 and rD hasn’t been given to go ahead quite yet.

Well that was a bit strange but it's basically the weekend you could expect based on last year's dates.

As for the initial promo art... not much that we can read into yet.

Honestly I’m happy that we’re keeping it around Lunar New Year and not having to deal with coming straight back off or Marathon Weekend for anyone wanting to do that as well

Yes, if not faster. The number of available spots have been fewer than the WDW races too, especially the 5K as it starts on Main Street and there's only so much space there. With a lot of folks who started rD since the DL races and Coast-to-Coast went away, there's still pent-up demand for them.

I saw a video of the 5k start - it was AWSOME ! I would love to know if they plan on doing it next year. I’ve run both the 5k and 10k and they both started in the same place which was just down from the Disneyland hotel. Nice and convenient if staying at that hotel.
Looks like the 10k starting has changed from the past if I’m figuring that right? Not sure I’m going to like that?? I was planning on staying at that hotel so I can hop out of bed and quickly walk to the corrals.

RunDisney did something very special for the Disneyland Half marathon weekend a few years ago. They gave us a special pack and opened the Disneyland park for runners only on Saturday. It was for the 60th anniversary I think. Wouldn’t it be great if they would do something like that again for the 70th

Bumping this, tomorrow is two weeks out from CrD registration so I'll be on theme-watch. Hard to guess what they'll do given how random last year was, but with a lot more flexibility with Marvel characters maybe they dip into that well again? Only other thing I could guess is maybe they theme the half medal around the 70th anniversary.

The 70th makes sense, but then when has that factored in to rD sometimes?

I really wish the park attractions hadn’t been the virtual race themes because that would be quite nice for a race weekend. I know a lot of favorites weren’t yet at Disneyland that first decade but themes for things like the Matterhorn, Mr Toad, the Carousel, etc. would get my attention.
