I’m just realizing Mickey and Minnie were definitely supposed to be other Avengers. Not sure who without photos though

Mickey was wearing a Captain America shirt and Minnie had a pink Spider-Man (or Spider-Gwen?) shirt.

Was it Chip and Dale as Vikings or Thor/Loki? I’ve seen them in the Thor/Loki outfits and they are SO cute.

I know. They don’t use Thor and Loki at Islands of Adventure so I don’t get why they can’t use them. But I will never understand how that contract works.

I'm hoping now that Universal is about finished with Epic, they can turn their brains towards what else they could theme superhero island to so they can sell the rights to Disney and we can stop with this nonsense (yes, I know this is all wishful thinking, but isn't that what Disney is all about?)

Any character even in art is fair game. Like we can’t have black panther because of a mural backstage

I did the 5K yesterday. I love the theming of Disneyland 5Ks. They put on a little scripted show at the beginning that is funny and entertaining. I walked the entire thing (in crocs… it was for the costume lol) and stopped for some pictures. When I was in the Mickey/Minnie line, they told us they might cut the course and we were at risk of that. It was not that far in the race timewise. The Groot line got cut off shortly after I entered it and the bike sweeper came there and then hung out for a bit I think. It seemed like they really wanted people off the course much earlier than how WDW treats their 5Ks. I’m also pretty sure everyone started much faster— at WDW the balloon ladies sometimes don’t even start until 6:05 am. The expo guide for Disneyland said the start line closed at 5:15 am so I’m not sure if that’s when they got everyone across by but I wouldn’t be surprised.

In retrospect they did have a lot of photo opportunities, but it didn’t seem like it at the time. The character ones at least all felt late in the race. And it was weird how many opportunities didn’t have PhotoPass. With that said, I got some amazing course pics! PhotoPass stopped us under the sign on Pixar Pier, and I also finally got a nice 5K finish photo. Loved the race overall even though I’m not a huge Marvel/Guardians fan.

- Mickey and Minnie at Toon Town
- Buzz at Pixar Pier
- Cars in Carsland
- Ahsoka (distanced)
- Thor (distanced)
- Miguel
- Indiana Jones! (distanced)
- Kylo/stormtroopers at his ship
- Front of castle photo op

Might be more and/or switch outs.

Thor was swapping out with Loki. Also Stitch was out on the stage in Hollywood land. Millennium Falcon photo op. Mushu was over in the gardens area

Kinda fun to get an on-course selfie with the voice of Ahsoka Tano during a race themed to Ahsoka Tano.

Ashley Eckstein was very kind to all of her fans during the 10k today. When I caught up to her, she was calling a runner’s friend/family member to say hello. This is what makes runDisney races so much fun.

I’m so jealous Disneyland got a Star Wars race, especially with Ashley, the literal nicest person I’ve ever met!

There aren’t any spots inside the parks for spectators. I’m assuming it works the same as the last two weekends and they allow people in the section between the parks.

Realized I haven't visited this forum at all after the Jan 2024 DL Half Marathon Weekend. I was only able to do the 5K this time due to other commitments. It was so great! I loved the race, the course and I could feel the magic from the Expo to the start line! I wasn't expecting such a spectacular fireworks display at the start of the race. What an wonderful community we have! I hope you all are enjoying yourselves at DL!

Do you have the Disneyland app? Try your ID in that one.

That’s seems a bit weird. FWIW last year they said to use the DL app, would make more sense so I’d try that.
