Disneyland for Seniors

Me too! I've gotten in the habit of making a new Disney dress each time I go and I always get nice comments on it. You can't see the whole thing here, but you get the idea. Plus it has POCKETS!
Absolutely love it! I like the fabric and you look adorable! Well, today I bought the velvet for a capelet to go with it as I couldnt really find what I wanted on Amazon. And I bought white chopsticks to use as wand :rotfl2: SoI guessI am committed!
I definitely will post pics once I get it all done. And I'll tell you another thing that sold me on it...POCKETS! Yes, we ladies love our pockets! But I think the outfit is going to turn out so cute, maybe it'll encourage me to wear one more often!

Well, DH and I cancelled our cruise so that we can go to DL during the anniversary, so I need y’all’s help for planning. We think we’ll come for four nights, thus three full days in the parks, probably a Sunday through Wednesday (nights) or a Monday through Thursday. The question is when would be the best time, related to both weather and what else is going on, from mid-October of this year through February or March of 2026.

My questions tonight are:
In your opinion, when is the weather the nicest?

What are Sweetheart Nights? I saw those listed on the event calendar on page 1.

Are there dedicated threads here about events like OBB? (I searched for Oogie Boogie in thread titles and didn’t find one.) If no dedicated threads, what is the best source for an overview of each special event?

Thanks, and I’ll have more questions, I’m sure!

Just a suggestion: there may be many people who could offer good advice on your questions who won't see this posting because it's in a thread for senior visitors. Even if you're seniors yourselves, your questions don't seem to be about how to navigate DL as an older person. I suggest starting a new thread with your questions so that more people will read them.

I agree. There are numerous forums and subforums for WDW, but only one for DLR. Start a separate thread and I'm sure people will jump in and help you out.

Regarding OBB, there will likely be new threads once they announce ticket sales.

Here is a 2022 thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-oogie-boogie-bash-2022-thread-all-dates-sold-out.3881379

Sweethearts' Nite is an after hours event at DL.

From the DLR website:

Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts' Nite

Select Nights January to February 2024

Join us for an after-hours soirée with heartfelt fun! Celebrate with the love of your life, your best pal or cherished family, as Disneyland Park transforms into a celebration of love with unique entertainment, rare Characters, specialty food and beverage offerings, shorter attraction wait times and more. This separately-ticketed event will be held on January 21, 23, 28 and February 4, 6, 9, 11 and 13, 2025. Purchase of a separate event admission ticket is required to attend.

Tickets for this event are sold out but with a valid theme park ticket and reservation you can still enjoy a variety of attractions, entertainment and dining at the Disneyland Resort.

@irlandaise and @LKing, thanks, you’re right. I’ll start a new thread on the DL forum.

@theluckyrabbit, is Sweethearts’ Nite an annual event? And is it like the WDW parties at MK, where a ticket to the event could take the place of a park ticket that day, in terms of available attractions to ride?

Sweetheart's night is an after hours event . Yes, you can technically just do that instead of a full day park ticket, but the hours are limited and it's very cold in the park at night that time of year. You'll want to closely follow the Dis to see when tickets will go on sale for any of the after hours events because they sell out very quickly.

Stupid senior moment. I'm taking my grandson to DLR for his (and my) birthday. He's turning 15. We leave in the morning and we're doing it up right, staying at GCH for 3 nights with park hopping.

The dumb thing I did was make park reservations for F and S the opposite of early entry for DL and DCA. I only just figured that out and there's no changing it now, sigh.

You can change it if there in availability in the parks. If there is, cancel your park reservation and then rebook them.
