did anyone watch the show tonight? i missed some of it because i had company over. i have to wait until 2 am to watch it. i don't want to wait any longer to see the beginning. i loved what i saw and am so anxious to see the rest. it made me even more excited about my disney wedding than ever before. thanks for telling us about this special on the food network.

OK, am I the only person that feels poor or cheap after watching this? I mean, I loved the special and everything, but $70K for a wedding?
I think Food Network needs to do a special on Disney Intimates, to make brides like myself feel better. I feel so inferior!!! :earseek:

I have to agree with the poster above, while the show was amazing 70K for a wedding was like WOW WOW WOW
Id like toknwo who paid for that, the bride and groom and her parents. I wish they had shown various types of weddings in more detail. I have to say Ill probably watch it again it was amazing. I cant imagine spending that much $$ aon a wedding but thats just me

Wow Wow Wow! I am JEALOUS!!! Someone on here was one of the people on the show-the orange wedding. I saw their post explaining it at one point, but I don't remember where. Those wedding were gorgeous! I want a mad Hatter Tea party! That was beautiful.
my fiance said -even if we had 70 000 to spend, would you really do it? I said-ABSOLUTELY!

Found her! It was bubbaloo! You can see it on this post:

Bubbaloo, you need to share!! Loved the show

They were beautiful weddings, but $70,000! Wow!! No way this average, middle class parent like myself could give my daughter the Disney wedding she talks about.

Well, I have decided my daughter is 6, so I might ought to start saving NOW. Somebody is making more money than me.

I haven't seen it yet (no food networks in the UK :() but no-one should feel inferior - you can make ANY wedding special whatever you spend on it - at the end of the day it's not about how much money you spend on a wedding but how much you love your "honey" and the fact that you are getting married.

I for one love to see and hear all about other's marriages at WDW even if they do spend more than me I just love to watch them and live vicariously through others.-

LOL how people spend their money is up to them and good luck to them :)

Here is a link to the post about Ann's wedding on the show and RubySlipperGirl's engagement on the show.

Ds and I watched this last night and loved it.

Ann, ds loved the lighted ice sculptures.

Did anyone watch the cake decorating competition after the Disney weddings? I thought some of the cakes they showed were so fabulous.

I actually did not think that they would say how much that wedding cost. My DF and I watched and we recorded it so that I could watch it over and over. I watched it to get some ideas about what to ask when I go for my planning session in two weeks. I cant believe that it cost 70 grand. I cannot imagine paying that much, all the people at worked asked if that is what we are going to pay.

I did like the idea about the sushi chef at the cocktail hour.

I did want to ask if every couple gets to attend a tasting. My DF is a chef and definately wants to have that..

Thanks a million..

Oh one more question, My DF is dying to join this board but on our pc he cannot seem to registar, it always welcomes me to the page even after a log out.

Toni

Certainly for most of the Custom Weddings I know there can be a tasting arranged we did this during our Planning Session about 5 months before the wedding. It's sometimes harder to get a tasting arranged if you are planning to hold your reception in an already working restaurant but I however don't see why it should be. Every Custom bride should be able to have a tasting regardless of where they are holding their reception IMHO

For your DF I'm not sure why he's having difficulties have you tried going to your user CP on here and disabling the cookies both here and on your own PC. That may help if not then try asking on our Tech board.

All custom wedding couples can have a tasting (although it takes more effort to arrange one if your reception is in a restaurant). Just request one from your EM, and they'll set it all up for you. Honestly, the tasting was my favorite part of the planning session, and I got a kick out of seeing our chef (Pete) on TV :)

While we were watching that couple put together their wedding, I kept turning to my FH and saying, can you imagine how much that wedding is going to cost? I'm glad for them that they have the means to have that lavish of a wedding, but I certainly don't think that my wedding will be any less special. I do think that they should have highlighted an intimate wedding to show the range of budgets that Disney can accomadate. I would hate to think that a couple watched that special saw how much that wedding cost, and gave up on their dream to have a Disney wedding.

can anyone tell me where can i watch it? i am now in canada, and it seems canada food tv is quite different than the one in US
pls help

I am glad I am not the only one who said "WOW!"

My DH and I were talking and said I would rather spend the 75k on a downpayment for a house to live in AFTER the wedding than the actual wedding.

Don't get me wrong, it was a fab wedding, but the 75k didn't include rooms, tickets, dresses, tuxes, and food outside of the wedding...when I saw the bridal tea, I said " this girl has more $$ than sense"

Sorry if I offend, but I would rather have a small wedding on the Bay Lake beach and a nice dinner than that gala with all the trimmings...I wouldn't want my parents to have to mortage their life to start mine!

Thank you for the advice about the food tasting. I am just afraid of miscommunication. See our EM is going on Vacation the only weekend that we can get to disney to plan. See we both work for the Government and he is military, this is the only time that we can get away without using the leave we are saving for our wedding and honeymoon. So our sales person set up a session with another EM while ours is on vacation. We are meeting with Diane but our EM is Justin. I did email her and ask her about a tasting, we are having it at the boardwalk resort. I also asked if I should be in contact with Justin instead of her or both.
I would also like to ask you all, does your planning kit come in the mail or via email.

It is a Food Network show, so I'm not sure if you can watch it anywhere else.

OK, that tea cake. Can you say gorgeous? Wow. I could only hope to have a cake that cool for my wedding! Anyone have an idea of how much that set her back since it is one of the most difficult cakes at WDW?
