Disney Treasure adult only area

Laying in a tile lounger in the rainforest on the Treasure as I type this… some are hotter than others. My DW prefers the scorch setting while I prefer the room temperature models. Have not gone back to adult area and won’t before the end of cruise… will find a place to type comments and say something about the lack of shade in adult area.

Just did the survey and at no point did they ask...

We did the length of cruise Rainforest pass and weren't in there enough to enjoy it (they close the outside part at sunset and the tile loungers didn't hit the same - they felt way hotter than I remembered).
Closing the outside part at sunset is a huge miss…it would be nice if they kept it open at least until 7:30.

One of my major pet peeves with the new electronic surveys is there is really no place to put constructive criticism. You have to say Yes to the 'Did you experience an issue onboard' question and even then it is a bit tricky to get to the prompt that allows you to type in the issue. Most cruisers are going to automatically answer no to the question unless they needed to stop by guest services for help.

I do suggest that post sailing cruisers send constructive criticism through the contact us link on the DCL website so hopefully changes can be made.

Agreed. I also really hate that saying you did not enjoy a meal directly affects your server's ratings. (Or so I've been told multiple times by the servers). It's not their fault if the kitchen sends out bad food, nor is it their fault that we decide we don't want to wait while they remake it. We've never had outright bad food served before our recent cruise but some of it was truly inedible, and much of it served cold. The only meals we had where cold was cold and hot was hot was 1923. It took longer than we are used to as well, especially in Plaza de Coco. Our server team wasted no time so I don't think it was their fault... they didn't even chit chat or make recommendations this time. They took our order, served it, and that was it.

The last block (which isn’t obviously the last one) is where I wrote stuff. Can’t remember the question. If I can type an answer that’s where I unload. I remember writing that Tunnel vision is painfully loud. Ship was half full. It was 8 at night. TURN IT DOWN. Anyway - type your thoughts any time there is a text block!

Not sure what you mean by vibe, my DD and her husband loved the adult pool area, that’s about all they liked of the treasure. Hung out there everyday, BUT they like to socialize and interact with others, they are in their 30s. Many interesting stories every night at dinner, definitely not my kind of scene.
So the whole area just seems forced and not what I personally come to expect from the adult area of a Disney cruise line ship. We are frequent DCL cruisers and one thing we have truly come to enjoy is their adult areas and this one isn’t impressing me. And the lack of shade is a problem, at least for us. We found lounge chairs on another part of the ship that had a cover and on both sea days enjoyed those areas instead. So glad your DD and her husband loved it as I’m sure there many are folks who do! But for us it was a big letdown.

Agreed we are on the ship now and will definitely send them our comments about the lack of shade

In my opinion, the extensive survey at the end of the cruise is always a downer, especially because the servers basically beg you to give them perfect scores because anything less risks their employment (I've never had them use that exact phrase but it's implied)-- it's especially egregious that medicore food impacts their scores-- I think the majority of us Disney cruisers hate to think of our servers suffering over poor food quality/temp, so we either give 5s or don't review at all and overtime I think Disney is actually suffering from a lack of honest feedback because a lot of their food is mediocre. I'd say about 30% of the things we get in the main dining rooms is inferior to options on the mass market cruise lines, 30% is on par, and maybe 30% is any better? The food quality problem is further exacerbated by the lack of alternatives-- no buffett and extremely limited choices on the pool deck and room service. Would love to see at least one of those things change and it needs to change if I'm going to be able to convince my family to do Disney cruises more often.

That and specialty options that are near-impossible to get into if you are willing to pay for some higher quality dinners.

Disney divides surveys into excellent and everything else. The same thing happens in many other industries. I’ve had a couple of acquaintances who are corporate types tell me that most surveys are written so that they will get the responses the company wants. Not surprising given that it often drives compensation, advancement, etc. What that really says to me (along with the extreme difficulty in including comments) is that they aren’t interested in real feedback unless it directly and significantly impacts the bottom line. I get it, it’s a business, but it’s sad nonetheless. I will occasionally include one of my favorite business guru comments, but I fear no one thinks that way any longer, and they probably ignore it anyway:

I did the survey online the last day and then I received a follow-up survey in an email and boy, did I unload about the adult area. It is everything you all have been saying and worse. As someone said, that's what you get when the person who designed this class of ships had never been on a cruise. Dumb!

We have been forced to spend time in the fake satellite falls area on deck 14 - for some shade. Listening to screaming kids. While using very uncomfortable sun loungers. We won’t be repeat cruisers on this ship.
That was us after our cruise on the Wish. There was no shade and the adult area didn't feel very relaxing. It makes me sad and as it rules out the Treasure and the Destiny for me to cruise on. The design also felt so cold and although pretty, cheap. Like a hotel. Thank goodness we love the Fantasy and Magic.
