Hey guys... sorry if this was posted, just catching up (just getting back from Disney!) but I thought I’d mention it since Mando has a pretty big following on this board... for anyone who plays video games, Mandalorian and The Child are part of the latest Fortnite release!!!

https://screenrant.com/fortnite-mandalorian-skin-season-5-battle-pass/
And to make this post more board relevant:

‘To celebrate the launch of the new season of Fortnite, from now through December 31, 2020, get up to 2 months of Disney+ from Epic Games when you make any Fortnite real money purchase in game.’

I can’t wait to play!! Enjoy!! 🙂

Just watched the live action Mulan. Overall I enjoyed it. It threw me for a bit that seemed to be trying to be more realistic but then periodically it would go all Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - but didn't go all the way.

By the end I was pretty bought in. I think it was like 3/4 of the way to a really good movie if that makes sense. Worth a watch for sure but also glad I didn't pay an extra $30 for it

One thing I really liked was how it showed other parts of China - desserts with camels, snow peaked mountains, etc - than are typically depicted

Another ‘Jeans Guy’ Incident? Orrrr did a Jedi come and visit?

A lot of the effects were a little messy, especially during the opening sequence on the roof with young Mulan, but I think the story was well crafted. I honestly wasn’t even thinking about Mushu and Cri-Kee, this story didn’t really need them

Yeah, I felt at the beginning (and of course due to kids asking where Moshu, etc where) I was comparing it more to the animated film, but as it went I got more into it as it's own thing. Agree about some inconsistencies with the effects

I saw that instantly as well. But I watched a 2nd time after realizing she had the "force" at a young age, like running up walls later as an adult. So threw them some slack. Honestly it may have been on purpose.

Im actually totally fine with the “force” powers integrated into the story. It felt fresh. People don’t want a shot for shot remake, but they also don’t want the new story to deviate too far from the original. It makes no sense. I get people claim they don’t want these live action remakes, but they make money for Disney, and as long as they do, Disney is going to keep making them. And if Disney is making a lot of money from them, people are seeing them. But I digress. My issue wasn’t her powers as much as it was the messy effects that came along with it.

Oh I agree with all of what you said. Even the powers. I was simply saying she had the powers (we found out later) at a young age. Are you talking about how it looked odd when she feel, but was weirdly able to kinda bounce around and yet land safely with no problem? That's were I later thought she maybe could manipulate that fall. Right after her sister asked about the fall, and said she looked like a bird.

Yeah. When she fell the visual effects were just off. With the amount of time between March and September I feel like they could have cleaned up some of the editing. It’s a minor nitpick. Didn’t spoil my feelings of the movie. I don’t understand how her having powers is any more ridiculous than her being able to talk to a dragon. They’re both made up story’s

I'm so happy Home Alone and Home Alone 2 are on Disney+.

Those are some of the movies I constantly watch around Christmas so it's very convenient (especially since my DVD's are all packed and in storage right now for the move).

Sounds good to me! I'm still waiting for and hoping for good series w Obi Wan and Cassian Andor. Even though I love Ewan as Kenobi....I'm still uncertain what all they're going to do with this, if he's trying to be low key on Tatooine. Any and all Boba Fett live action is welcome....Ahsoka too. and would LOVE more Ezra and Thrawn. That sounds very intriguing. Didn't realize Bo Kataan series might happen. that would be good too. Looking forward to announcements!

I really don't think they should do too many shows. I'd really like some more animation too. High Republic as animation would be nice!

Its a lot, but they do need to get aggressive with content, and because Mandalorian has gotten so much praise, why abandon what’s already worked? To me, we get these characters to bring in money for Disney+ which would ultimately allow them to branch off into new story’s and new characters.

I guess it's okay if some of them are just one-and-done. Like Obi Wan is not supposed to be multiple seasons - just one story. I might prefer they do it as a movie, but direct to D+.
