So in looking at the 7a (obstructed balcony) staterooms on the Fantasy, it appears to me that the obstruction varies based on the deck. Are all 7a's the same? - it appears the balconies on deck 7 have a greater obstruction than those on deck 8. Is this the case? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We had a 7a on deck 7 last month. The obstruction covered less than half of the balcony. Since we had some very windy days, it was actually a nice addition.

If you are looking at specific staterooms, I'd encourage you to google those rooms and look for pictures. That's what we did. You can look at either the Fantasy or the Dream.

DH and I typically book 8662 on the Dream or Fantasy. The "obstruction" is minimal" maybe 6 inches at most on the right side of the
verandah. It in no way blocks your view of the ocean or ports.

We were very happy with the minimal obstruction in 8022 (on the Dream, but I assume its the same on the Fantasy). We then had 9652 on the Fantasy and while the actual verandah obstruction still wasn't too bad we also had 3 poles to the side that we felt made this room worse. They may not bother some people, but as you can see it made a difference in this sunset picture.

I still think all 7As are a great way to save a little while still having the verandah, but this room wouldn't be my first choice again.

07A has "secret verandahs" on each ship. They are lumped in with the standard Navigator's Verandah category because they can't charge full balcony pricing for an obstructed view. This makes these particular rooms some of the best deals to be had.

Secret Verandah list:

Wonder & Magic: 7120, 7620, 6134, 6634
Dream & Fantasy: 7022, 7170, 7182, 7520, 7668, 7680, 8022, 8164, 8176, 8520, 8662, 8674, 9012, 9152, 9164, 9512, 9652, 9664

In answer to your question, no, not all the 7A staterooms on the Fantasy are the same. The amount of obstruction varies. Many 7As have a minimal obstruction. We were in 9164 on the Dream and loved it.

Does anyone know offhand which have more vs. less obstruction? And I'll start searching too:)

Any idea which of the 07A rooms on the Fantasy can sleep 4? Thanks!

Deck 5 - none
Deck 6 - none
Deck 7 - 7170, 7668
Deck 8 - 8022, 8176, 8520, 8674
Deck 9 - 9152, 9652

It Is always a possibility that limitation is based on lifeboat limits, but as these are all sets of room (directly across the ship, despite numbering being off), I would say this is accurate. I checked availability for parties of 4 and 3.

There are 26 Cat 7A cabins on the Fantasy. The other 18 sleep 3 guests).
